I love his more calm and collected that he was in Solo, with a hint of madness.

 

If what he did wasn’t a hack then I don’t care. He should never be involved in Star Wars again. That was more my point.

sure I would like the people who played the characters to keep playing them but if what he did is true he broke the law that’s what my point was about. Plus Disney has been shown to take a better safe than sorry approach. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney has already cut all ties.

Edit: just read that he apparently posted them by mistake. I doubt this will help him with Disney.

Disney will see it as him posting porn on his Instagram. It might not be the end of his career like the original Revenge porn rumor. But it will end his relationship with Star Wars.

 

Yeah. Even if he did do it by accident (and it is definitely possible), pornography and Disney obviously don't mix. So yeah, I can see them cutting ties. It would be a shame, but understandable. Saying that, they gave James Gunn another chance after consideration. So who knows?

 

James posted some jokes (you can argue if they are bad or not) He didn’t post straight up porn. That’s the difference. Plus Gunn is and was way more valuable to Disney than Ray ever was or will be.

 

I think the time that James Gunn had posted those jokes was also quite the way back, around ten years or so, so he could realistically claim to have changed since then. This current drama around Ray Park, on the other hand, if true, would be a very recent thing.

 

In a few months no one will care about this Ray Park business.

 

So are all those people who were lynching Ray Park online and where actively cheering the ruination of his life going to apologize now and perhaps reevaluate their own views on life...

 

He posted the video and then swiftly deleted it. And didn’t claim to have been hacked at the time. That happened a few weeks after he said some nasty things about his wife on Twitter, and didn’t claim to have been hacked at the time. So it’s clear he did it, despite the damage control campaign by him, his family and some of his fans. Perhaps he very quickly repented and he and his family are trying to resolve things, but there’s no use pretending that nothing happened. And what happened pretty much ends his career with Disney, I think.

 

I read the statement from his wife. It reads an awful lot like a woman who was cheating, and is trying to smooth things over to get any attention off of her. For someone who was supposed to be making a statement about the state of a video posted in error by her husband, she spent most of it focusing on whether she was cheating or not. Also, it's rather odd that we've heard nothing from Ray Park himself on this other than an initial claim of being hacked.

Now, regardless of what actually happened. Regardless of what people think happened. Regardless of what the Parks claim happened. Ray Park's time as Maul is most likely over.

 

Disney and Lucasfilm will. That's pretty much all that matters to Ray Park.

 

I think some of you forget that Disney/Lucasfilm hired Paul Reubens(Pee Wee Herman) for Star Wars Rebels and Disney hired him for Tron:Uprising and MCU/Disney hired Robert Downy Jr., and those two examples were actual criminals. Stallone was in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie and he's done nudes and even a porno in his early career.

Most people have been fed misinformation and the trolls created a massive drama which contained doctored photos/chats. While Disney may not be particularly happy about the controversy(I have yet to see any official statement from them) but as it was a mistakenly posted the video that was quickly taken down .The most important thing has to do is healing things with his wife and children I would say.

 

There’s little evidence supporting the claim that the video was mistakenly posted. It’s almost impossible to mistakenly post a compromising porn video...And Ray Park never said it was a mistake at the time.

 

It's certainly not the kind of public behaviour or role modelling to encourage.

Family anguish and disfunction play out in many ways, but an offence - criminal or civil - is just that. I'm all for second chances and families moving on, if they can.

There are other consequences though, and one of them is with regards mutual association and reputation. Sadly, Ray's actions will have been cost-benefit analysed and I think are going to mean Disney will distance themselves from him. Maybe he'll retain work (while the family sort things out). Reckon this will be elsewhere or perhaps rejoin Disney when any bad press/justice has worked itself out satisfactorily.

 

Enough about Ray Park and insinuating motives on his part or Disney's, move on.
