What makes it even more interesting is that it’s a food court in Adelaide Australia, of all places.

We do. But Adelaide? Lucas was wandering around the Rundle Mall, passing the giant Pigeon statue? I could have bumped into him on my lunch break.

That can of Diet Coke is yet another of his tactical implements of nonchalant subterfuge. It's actually a cylindrically hyperextended parabolic ear, capable of recording 360 degrees of distant conversations.

My theory is that George watched Over the Garden Wall, and this earworm compelled him to make the pilgrimage to Adelaide.

And the only reason he's eating Master Wok General Tso's Chicken is because the food court doesn't serve potatoes and molasses.

I find it interesting that a recognisable billionaire is going to a mall & eating food like a regular person instead of just ordering it to his house/hotel & hiding away from the public.

Fair play to George, he freely opened himself up to a surprise nerd encounter.
    Man has no fear.

This was in Australia, though. I imagine in America he behaves differently.

I have it on good authority that they like Star Wars in Australia too.

"Courage is the path to the Light Side. Courage leads to Qantas. Qantas leads to Adelaide. Adelaide leads to Rundle Mall. Rundle Mall leads to food court. Food court leads to General Tso's chicken." -- George Lucas

Food court employee: Would you like chopsticks with your order, sir?
    ::::Use the forks, George::::
    George: No thanks.

And your pineapple upside-down cake is just pineapple cake, right?

Yes, but if we didn’t call it an upside down cake then Americans would cook it the wrong way.

I once ordered a pineapple upside-down pizza (I guess it's really just an upside-down pineapple pizza). This probably belongs in the dedicated thread, but it somehow seems on-topic..... and, more appropriate here, since that thread is about pineapple on pizza, whereas this is about pineapple down under the pizza.

^ That is a crime against the ineffably glorious marriage of pineapple and pizza. :(

No, but TV shows and movies play in reverse, just like the toilets.

So that's how all the sinister messages YouTube told me that Kathleen Kennedy has been sneaking into Disney era Star Wars were discovered?! Somebody listened to them backwards!

I don't think Lucas talks to Filoni that much at all tbh. I suspect its like your friend constantly talking about your ex wife. The wife moved on but you are still hearing about it.

Filoni has said he still sends Lucas messages to ask for advice or clarity in certain Star Wars things.

He's been seen on the set of shows like The Mandalorian, so he is around.
But I don't think he's just turning up when he feels like it, he won't invest the time unless he's asked.

It's not as if he doesn't still care, after all he wrote a treatment for the ST on the basis it would be used.

Its called being considerate. Lucas sold off his baby and its hard to say how he feels about hearing where the galaxy is going without him. Maybe he is cool with it, but from the sound of it he was very saddened when they did not use his treatment and walked away from having any involvement in Disney Star Wars.

So being a friend is one thing, but being a friend isn't about just contacting them about work stuff and updating them about all the details.

George did the Jedi thing and let go of his attachment to his creation. We can’t assume that this was a negative experience for him.

Well george technically did the bad jedi thing. Gained an attachment and had to let it go. So i imagine it was likely tough for him to let go of his baby

You can tell because George got abit bitter towards Disney calling them white slavers. So while he likely got over it and the years mellowed him out, he likely wasn't very happy in the time between him selling and TFA coming out.

The full version of this on Disney+ is recommended, especially in the context of Filoni's title being announced. It gives a clearer picture of George being involved.
