Ok, at this point, about 5 other people on the board are getting the joke.

 

I am very excited about Microsoft buying Bethesda because it means more wolfenstien, doom, elder scrolls, maybe prey 2 and etc. Microsoft knows how to make good Games

I am also certain Bethesda has more ideas to start to make new games from scratch too.

 

Well it could also be a RROD thing where it only affects some units... Who knows, we won't know if it's real until the embargo lifts.

 

Considering all that heat is being vented out of one place, it's no surprise that you'd feel the heat in that specific place. Considering it's also running powerful hardware on the scale of high-end PCs, are you really surprised it gets hot? PS4s, Xbox Ones, and even most devices of this current age get hot when using their maximum power outage. Unless it's hot enough to catch fire or explode - and hundreds of them are doing so - where's the problem? That vents there for a reason, so the fact the heat can be felt there and not, say... the casing, means it's operating exactly as it should.

 

A little off-topic but is anybody playing Squadrons and if so where's the thread for it?

Funny, I just got to ask Phil Spencer about their plans for cloud based solutions and within games this Sunday on the Geoff Keighley Zoom Call. He said they were really proud of how it works on Flight Sim, but that they still have the challenge of getting that to Xbox.

However, he did admit that with a game like Crackdown 3, they talked about the cloud more than they did the actual game. He said from now on they are trying to let devs come up with good uses and reasons to have that tech.

He also said he hopes Flight Sim wins some of those Game Awards, and I agreed. It's a technical marvel.

Oh and btw he was cool.

 

Phill is very cool, and done a lot to turn the Xbox brand around after the Disaster that the Xbox One was at the start.

Yeah Mattrick was a disaster.

 

His greatest accomplishments were getting one company gutted by EA and managing to sell roughly 10 million consoles a year with a system that was already moving roughly 10 million consoles a year. Truly a visionary; it's easy to see why he earned such glowing accolades from the financial press in the early 2010s.

 

I think I’d die of happiness if this came back.

 

It'd probably prove more popular in this day than on the 360. For one, it'd be on PC as well as the Series. For two, it'd be on Game Pass. Keep the support up for it with plenty of additional questions added over time - maybe events based on the month - and you'd keep players coming back for more.

 

Microsoft’s improved support of Xbox is being to pay off by the looks of it.

 

Game informer got an interview with Todd Howard, a few things where discussed about star Field.

1: Full Single player game
2: procedural generated techniques, ( no randomised worlds)
3) the Engine was overhauled
4) NPCs play a big role and much more expensive cities
5) 5x the developers as fallout 4

also said star field and next elder scrolls day one on game pass.

I expect anything multiplayer to be multiplatform but single player? Nope.

 

Eh I think maybe timed exclusives. Like a year of exclusivity.

 

Todd Howard claims the engine has been overhauled every single time. I'll believe it when I see it.

At minimum it'll also be on PC, that's not only MS policy but really where all those Elder Scrolls games “belong” in some crude way. Now, since the consistent company line these days is roughly "We don't care where you play as long as you play it from us" - which I think could potentially foul up the normal notion of exclusives - it'll be interesting to see if they come out anywhere else. Not to mention if they get a reliable-ish streaming platform up and running by then it'll get weird in a hurry.

 

I just think it would be crazy business practice to cut out the majority of players as possible customers for, say, ES6. I got to talk to Phil Spencer about it and he seemed to indicate they really haven't decided yet. It might depend on what kind of market share series X has by then to be honest.
