I'm personally going with actors working now, no de-aging with an eye towards younger talent (Wedge is listed as 28 explicitly in WS, but I'm good to up that to early-mid 30s because it bumps everyone's ages up a bit.)
You guys can propose whomever. I just figured it would be a fun exercise.

I'll be casting first by prominence (Fab 4, Ladies etc, and mentioning any time I'd deviate from the books because let's face it, we can improve on some things and nobody deserves to be stuck with Corran Horn for 4 books, so Wes and Hobbie are going to get some screen time in the first couple of episodes to establish themselves before they go off to train other pilots, Erisi won't be as transparently vampy evil, Mirax will have an expanded role, etc etc.)

As for the Rogues… I read that Michael Stackpole had commented that Chris Pratt would make a good Corran. I whipped up a concept based on that for something else:

Well I based Joy on Melissa O'Neil's character in Dark Matter - Portia Lin.
Foxxy is based on Bridget Raegan's character Sasha from The Last Ship
Anais on Caity Lotz's Sara Lance from Arrow/DC's Legends of Tomorrow
Joy's father is Jefrey Dean Morgan, not sure how close he will be to Negan from The Walking Dead or to Thomas Wayne from Batman VS Superman
Joy's mother is Michelle Yeoh's Phillipa Georgiou from Star Trek Discovery
Though I mostly cast them because Melissa's real life parents are Irish and Chinese so I had to find suitable actors to relatively fit the role also the actor's age.

One actor I thought of for Hobbie is too old, the other is on trial for burglary. Back to the drawing board.

I did think of Fionn Whitehead for Wedge. Did a great job in Dunkirk. For the most part, I'm not up on the new generation of actors. Thought of Saoirse Ronan for Max, but she'll have to dye her hair & tone down the make up.
