JCC [yay Fringe!] Gaze upon the Redverse JCC

As season 4 of some sci-fi series dealing with alternate universes is about to premiere...



...we're offering you an exclusive look at what happened in the Alternate Universe JCC, a place similar to ours... but also quite different.


- The casting of Leonardo DiCaprio as Anakin Skywalker for Episode I: A Shadow Falls caused a group of female users to start a long-lived thread devoted to His Capriness *longing sigh*.
- Comms was deleted two weeks after its creation. Sebulba-X said he had felt "a disturbance in the Force, like we avoided some terrible fate".
- WNU was deleted too. For obvious reasons.
- EmpressPalpatine was found out to be a woman called Tessa. She eventually married PiaS. They named their firstborn Mark.
- The Dantooine Base never fell apart. It's currently the JCC's main social group, led by Head Poobah Arsenal.
- Wisegate led to the eventual resignation of all forum moderators and managers, forcing Phillip Wise to create a temporary administration. Head Admin nashira is still remembered fondly by most posters.
- Once Episode III: Rise of the Empire premiered, FateNaberrie reregistered as PloKoonPWNED, fading into obscurity.
- DarthSapient's creepiness was never discovered. He was eventually jailed for the attempted abuse of the host of some matchmaker thread.
- Head Admin beezel eventually promoted Strilo to JCC Pluskommander, leading to an era of terror known as The Darkness Without End.
- tom wrote an album of country songs about the JCC. The forum's country music expert, darth_boy, said it was "a most worthy endeavour". Suzuki_Akira gave it 5/5 guitars.
- The President McCain Appreciation Thread became a heated battlefield, forcing TheGuardianofArlon to ban more than 25 users in one single day.

JCCers spent September 11th celebrating annual Oatmeal and Porridge day in the Oatmeal and Porridge forum. Tunick complained the entire time. Some things stay the same.

 

-The Comic Irregulars exist and are making a screencap comic based on The X-Files.

 

Users were left with their heads spinning after the lightning-fast move to vBulletin in 2005.

 

Sequel Trilogy Manager Eeth-My-Koth started a crusade to get rid of all "pernicious influences", leading to the banning of all pictures depicting women and all words starting with the letter "F".

 

Andalite-Bandit, Comms Admin and Senate heavyweight essayist, instituted a fad for manual sigs of bees standing next to the letter S.

 

My wife put a keylogger on my computer.

 

After a JCC member was trolled to the point of threatening suicide, a kind hearted Eeth founded a movement called To Write Love on her Message Board. Rolling Stone magazine described it as 'truly visionary'.

 

Andalite-Bandit's short lived Comms revival wasn't well-received by Sebulba-X, former JC manager and current head admin of competing site Episode-X. Members of the famous anti-cyberbullying community 4chan accused E-X moderator Grimby The Hutt of trolling nuComms behind several socks. Eventually, well-loved users Mace-In-Yo-Face and Wilderness_Comedian managed to settle a lasting peace between the two factions.

 

The forum's most well-known and long lasting member, Zach, eventually retired of his thread indexing duties.

 

A heated debate recently started in the Comics Thread. While Spider-Fan insisted the relaunch of Ground Zero Spider-Man should be considered the best comic of the year, darthramza insisted the Brian Michael Bendis penned Action Comics #906 was clearly superior. MyKe1138 dismissed both positions and insisted on the latest issue of Dave Sim's Youngblood/Predator being the book of the year. ApolloSmileGirl lamented the lack of a Cassandra Cain book (some things...)

The fair and balanced Im_just_guessing, host of the Doctor Who thread, posted from his office a long rant about David Tennant and Karen Gillian's on-screen chemistry. i'm so happy that aaylasecurowned and jabba-wocky decided to have their wedding in orlando during celebration vi so that the entire jcc can be there to witness the union of two popular and warmhearted jccers. though the way they constantly flirt and post kissy faces can be a bit nauseating.

 

Lowbacca_1977 hasn't had time lately to follow up on college football, as he's been occupied by going through each disc of the recently released Star Wars saga on Blu-ray. Darth_Guy has called the Roast of Charlie Sheen "top notch entertainment", while Handmaiden_Yane posts stories/accounts of her exciting new life as a Wally World associate in New London, Connecticut.

DarthTunick recently caused an uproar when he forgot to post in all blue. Fortunately, we were still able to identify his posts thanks to his "Long Live Chicago!" manual signature.

 

Radical leftist DarthLassic was arrested trying to explode a bomb outside the New York Stock Exchange.

 

7SA Manager HookLineandSinker informed that his Lucasfilm sources had told him the name of the new movie was Balance of the Force. Forum stalwarts Delilah_Firestar and Attack_of_the_Ewoks had to be warned during the heated discussion that followed.

 

Zaz, enthusiastic leader of the board's George RR Martin Fan Club thread, has introduced a new banner to commemorate the release of the final novel in the long-running series.

 

Dave recently discovered How I Met Your Mother and won't stop talking about it as he makes his way through the series.

 

The "Post a Picture of Yourself" thread has long been a model for the community. It is filled with polite conversation and tasteful compliments. Wes_Janson is a regular, frequently seen posing with his potted plants.
