    You know what sucks?

Smoke Alarms going off when there is no smoke, and I don't mean that low battery warning. This thing has new batteries and just decided that it needed my fist after going off for no legitmate reason!

And on a 17 hour day after 5 hours sleep! Arrgh!

    TICKETMASTER!!!
    :mad::_|[face_worried]
You are a major ticket seller. You know you are going to be selling a huge concert. How about getting a *@#*ing server that can handle the traffic!!!!??
I've been sitting here reloading to get U2 tickets for the past hour, continuously getting "Our system is currently busy due to a large event on sale.
We apologise for the inconvenience." Or even better "Server Busy".
And of course the phone lines are engaged.

    COMPLETELY unprofessional.

Wow, that bad? Yeah, you're not wrong. They should figure that U-bloody-2 is going to be just slightly popular. Have you managed to get the tickets okay?

    2.5hours, with auto-reload every 5seconds.
At about the 2hr mark we got in, got through 90% of the process, and then the server crashed. Another half hour at least to get to the same point, wherein the seated tickets had sold out, standing only (and at more expense!)
But yeah, got them in the end.

And of course the phoneline was continuously engaged.

Too tired to type a full outline now. Won't have net for maybe a week, too...
    And now back to moving...

You know, you could've just picked them up on ebay. Sure, they'd cost more, but think of the time you'd save, and the stress.

Hey I got mine too, but yeah after ringing all day, last resort online after not being able to get online all day.

I think they're as far back in the stadium as you can get without sitting across the road behind a van with some tall person with an afro sitting in front of you.

But I'm there. Asking Santa for binoculars for Christmas.

Eh... I'll pass on the nose-bleed seats.

...YKWS? My arsehat colleagues at work. They are lazy. They are inconsiderate. They are incompetent. They are pigheaded. They insist on pissing me off. They insist on irritating me with petty nonsense about procedures that don't work. Thank you, but I know how to do my job effectively without belching the words "That's against standards" because I do not have the rulebook jammed that far up my arse. Come to think of it, I don't have the rulebook anywhere near my arse, and I can do the job better and more efficiently than they can. And sometimes, it feels like the next time the chief arsehat annoys me with assinine nonsense about rule violations while I am cleaning sharp metal objects, the last thing he sees will be his blood pouring down the drain.    Urge to kill receding... ahh.

IF there's one thing you can count on from U2 concerts, it's the multiple TV screens the size of a bus. What will suck is if another concert is announced and the people who got average tix could get awesome tix on the second gig.

Yes. That would indeed suck. Very much. A whole lot.

Still if I'd not bought the crap tickets I'd be sad come March 21st, so I'm happy to just be there now :)

They've already announced second shows for sydney and melbourne, but as brisbane still had tix available this morning (apparently) the odds are pretty slight we'll get a second show. I say we... it's not like I want to go.

I liked that they announced a second show AFTER all the scalpers had their tix on ebay.

Am I the only one who thinks scalping on ebay is morally if not legally reprehensible?

Oh Timmy... I delight in flouting Champs Standards. Need thin dough in five minutes instead of five hours? No problem. I won't say a word about anything else I pull in case we scare off the kiddies... ;)

My manager is cool, as is your former ARM. The irritating prick in question is the lazy-arse shifty who manages to do as little as possible. I don't respond too well to criticism from hypocritical twits, especially after I've slaved all day over the make table, cut bench and spent all day doing deliveries in 30+ degree heat. And because this moron is selfish and lazy, I often have to finish off a 8 or 9 hour general dogsbody shift without a break of any kind. Me not pretty sight under such circumstances. Think me at the RotS gathering with the urge to kill that Homer suffered in "The Shinning".

This is the same thing that happens to the lowly zebra* when it is brought down by the magnificent lion** on the African savannah. It struggles briefly against its fate, but nature is not entirely unkind (if at times a little humourous) and the brain of the zebra releases happy chemicals which allows the zebra to accept its fate, and dulls the pain with a nice sedative.

You have accepted your fate, and the chemcials have kicked in. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Get real! The average age of the customers where i work is near 50!

But the customers at macarthur central on the other hand...

Speaking of where i work, i had this great idea for a screenplay. I have had to to parcel pick up heaps lately which is when i have to wheel people's groceries to the loading dock to their car because usually they shop too much or are just too lazy to take their trolley to their car themself. Anyway the screenplay would be titled 'Parcel Pickups' and it would be about a guy who has to take groceries to some very pretty customers cars ;) fill in the blanks

I know of an ex-parcel pick up chap who would help himself to a piece of fruit or what not when he got a bit hungry.

BTW, Marv - does that lady still come into your store (not me), you'd know her, she's about 40 or so but up there she's about 12, and for the longest time she had a crush on one of the fellows in the fresh produce section, and was always chatting to the girls at the express checkouts. (I say girls, not cos they are all girls, but rather it was the girls that chatted too her). Dark hair. Giggles.

    I haven't seen her for a while.

Hmm there are a couple of people that could be...there are two ladies that I know of who are '12 up there' and who talk to the staff all the time. One of them I have always suspected of faking it and stealing, as a matter of fact. But yes it is probably one of those to whom you refer. My Dept Manager has more than once politely told her to FO.
