JCC You know you feel old when...

I feel old when cops and security guards look too young to be out on their own at night. Or my doctor's young enough to be my child...

 

It's worse when they're the doctors examining you!

Recently, I have noticed that I make a groaning sound every time I get to my feet.

 

...when your co-worker, who is 18 years younger than you, had the same 12th grade/senior year English teacher that you did, despite having gone to a different high school.

 

So I'm too old to have ever watched Blue's Clues, but what broke me was recently hearing that instead of animatronics on an actual stage, nowadays Chuck E. Cheese has their characters in CGI on a big screen.

 

When your first crush has a teenage daughter.

 

When the media from the era I grew up in, being the 90s and early 2000s, begins to look exactly like what media from the 70s and 80s used to look like whenever I would come across it during the 90s and early 2000s. And I mean all media...tv, movies, news, sports, everything. And yet at the time I remember it all looking so modern.

 

My converse hurt my knees. I feel betrayed.

 

When baseball players born in the late-90’s, such as Fernando Tatis Jr., are having great starts to their MLB careers.

 

....when your favorite movie will be 30 years old in about two years.

 

You grew up around people who resisted the Nazi occupation and/or survived deportation, and there are now so few such people left their deaths make national news...

 

Your realise your nephew is going into high school next year.

Even though I was young when it happened realizing that every kid K-12 plus some of college weren’t even alive when 9/11 happened makes me feel old and I am only 21

 

I still can't accept that there can be adults who don't remember Desert Storm.

 

Or the Cold War, for that matter.

 

When those parents are younger than you

(barely old enough to be a dad myself and nowhere near ready to be a good one!)

 

When a co-worker mentions that they were born in ‘99.

 

Try being of age to be their parent

 

I can think of more annoying songs to be stuck inside your head right now.

 

When I'm watching a tv drama and I find myself thinking : must they swear so much ?

The youngest Pythons, Eric and Michael, are 77.
