When you have Cyclocane, Ventusky and NOAA open on your computer and translate meteorology talk into laymen’s terms for everyone else.

You're able to recognize voice actors from Breaking Bad (Crossbow Guy is Wedge from FFVIIR, @solojones)

You're listening to a book podcast talk about a Star Trek/X-Men crossover novel you don't know the author of, you hear one of the hosts mention the writer's habit of referring to characters by species, and immediately say "Oh, Michael Jan Friedman."

    Sure enough.

When you know the name of the novel without even having to finish reading the above post (Planet X, BTW).

also yesterday during our escape game, the guy who was in charge of our game gave us walkie talkies to talk to him if we needed him. I said "Hello there" in an Obiwan inflection. He responded with the appropriate "General Kenobi".

I was so happy. I've been waiting for someone to say that back. Of course he's the owner of the place and has a stormtrooper suit he built in front himself so he's obviously a fan.

I had "Hello there" as my Skype Work status for about a month until a random co-worker IM'd me with "General Kenobi!". I was amused and then promptly deleted that status.

    I own that shirt. :p

When watching a HK horror comedy, you notice a particular shot reminds you of Dario Argento’s Opera (which was released seven years later).

Newly translated Bible text shows battles with wizards.

"The tale ends with the evil wizards being literally swallowed whole by the Earth."

I went to Imprisonment spell right off:

When you cast the spell, you choose one of the following forms of imprisonment.
Burial: The target is entombed far beneath the earth in a Sphere of magical force that is just large enough to contain the target. Nothing can pass through the Sphere, nor can any creature Teleport or use Planar Travel to get into or out of it.

    Imprisonment

Cannot say Germans anymore because of Steve Martin's P.I. Rigby saying "Germurmans" when he's drugged and captured by them.

...a D&D group asks to stat Superman and you chime in with:

Out in the middle of a vast ocean sat the volcanic island of Kryptonia. Everyone thought the volcano dormant but one thought it would erupt and destroy the kingdom. BLAMMO! He was right.
So there you have the basis for a Kryptonian race. Perhaps they get both Feats and Ability increases instead of either/or.
As many in the comics have escaped and Kryptonian powers turn up many times then this race could have a class, The Super Class for lack of anything better I can think of.
Kryptonia was a steampunk land of low mana, and so when a Kryptonian goes to a magic land they become imbued with power. In this case you can take Superman's powers and spread them out over a 20 level character. Or perhaps make an Archetype.
Some powers start out at low level and get better, some may be one shots when you get them and so on. I would try to avoid simply handing out spells. If you do that you might as well play a wizard.
