It does seem like the only meaningful consequences of the "multiverse" in these stories is either character resurrections, character resets, or both.

That was the benefit of "What If...?", Imaginary Stories and "Elseworlds". To do stories with consequences, without affecting continuity. "Secret Wars " will most likely have some level of consequences for Multiverse doppelgangers.

I'd say invoking the multiverse had some some pretty long lasting consequences for Peter, Wanda (if she is indeed, dead), and possibly Stephen if DS3 shows us the incursions and/or the consequences of his using the Darkhold.

Also Aunt May was straight up murdered by a visitor from the multiverse

There’s a dimension in the multiverse where a Juliet316 variant is first to post about people coming back to life.

The only marvel releases left for 2022 are Black Panther 2 and the Guardians of the Galaxy tv holiday special, right?

Then I think for 2023 it’s Ant-Man 3, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, and Captain Marvel 2 for movies?

And for shows in 2023 it’s Secret Invasion, What If season 2, Loki season 2, and Echo? And maybe Agatha and Ironheart?

And the Sony-verse with Into The Spider-verse 2 and Kraven the Hunter?

Guardian of the Galaxy TV holiday special can't be any worse than the Star Wars holiday TV special? :p

Don't know if this is a warning or not but James Gunn repeatedly said he "Unironically loves" the Star Wars Holiday Special

My guess? How many people even remember that William Hurt was in the MCU? Also Chadwick was beloved and William Hurt was apparently a rapist, so there's that.

I'm guessing the deal wasn't quite done with Ford when they announced the Thunderbolts/Captain America movies at D23 a few weeks back.

Has the MCU gone back to 3 movies a year from the planned 4 movies a year in Phase 4 and beyond?

There were rumors that Kathleen Kennedy made them delay the announcement to not overshadow Indy 5.

I think there's been some delays and movies pushed back with some director changes and as a result production changes as well (especially with Blade which had been scheduled to come out next year, but now has been pushed back to 2024 as they search for a new director).

I heard it was going to snow this year at Christmas and then Kathleen Kennedy was like "NO!" so it couldn't happen.

I thought their plan was 12 movies and 22 shows a year.

I’m happy with just 3 movies a year.

These 6 TV shows in a year, on the other hand, feels like too much.

Oh come now. Let us not disguise the fact that we're all secretly hoping it will turn out even worse, and that we'll be a teensy bit disappointed when it turns out to be genuinely good.
