I got this idea last night while I was trying to give my wife a synopsis of Fellowship of the Ring, and thought it might be a fun game to try here on the boards. Trying to keep the plot, story, and characters of a major film explained in under 25 words could be a bit of a challenge, and present some interesting sentences...

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Imperials attack Rebels. Rebels flee. Luke meets Yoda. Trains become Jedi. Han, Leia kiss. Lando betrays. Han Frozen. Luke's hand cut off. Vader Luke's Father.

Basic Instinct
Lots of betrayal, killing, and sex.

 

This is a cool game john, great idea

The Mighty Ducks

Guy gets impaired, has to coach hockey team, team sucks, helps team play well, beats his old team and coach in the finals

 

Braveheart

Scot wear kilts. Rebel against English. Fight for Freedom. Lots of blood and bagpipes.

 

Jurassic Park

Cloned dinosaurs on island. Power off, T-Rex escapes. T-Rex eats some people. Raptors escape. Raptors eat more people. Surviving people run away. T-Rex eats raptors.

 

The Fellowship of the Ring

Fordo gets ring, Gandalf says rings evil, goes to Rivendale, meets fellowship, goes to Moria, gandalf disapears, go to Lothlorien, Boromir is killed.

 

Gathers medical-student friends. Kills himself. Experiences after-death. Comes back. Friends kill themselves. Come back. Oops: bad idea. They all deal with their pasts.

Here's a twist: Name this movie!

Right! (That's one of my favorite movies).

 

No offence, but I don't think I have ever heard of it. Hmm...

 

Highlander,

Scottish man dies in battle,becomes immortal, is taught the sword,losses his loved ones, becomes suspect for a murder and saves the world.

 

Boondock Saints

Two irishmen are beat up and nearly killed by russian mobster... go a little vigilante and kill any bad people

 

Spider Man

Guy bit by radioactive spider, has super powers, his uncle is killed, starts crime fighting, Green Goblin causes ruckus, Spidey beats him up.

OK, not my absolute favourite movie, but one of my faves:

Reporter and his attorney go to Vegas to cover race. Get stoned. Trash hotel. Then cover drug conference. Get very stoned. Trash another hotel room.

There exactly 25 words. So who wants to take a guess at what movie?

Umm, winner.

Ya, first off its a surreal book, and to make it into a movie that captures that was difficult, but Terry Gilliam did it wonderfully. Actually I recommend any movie directed by Terry Gilliam. I have them all, and they are all great.

 

Cool. I've only managed to see the last half of it. I remember the drug conference though so that what i remembered. I keep trying to rent it but it's hard to find

 

Top Gun

Pilot gets lucky, goes to elite school. Conflict with other pilot. Gets lucky with instructor. Partner dies. Loses edge. Gets it back. Wins the day.

 

Velvet Goldmine:

Ewan McGregor, good music, glam rock, fun costumes, interesting concepts.
