Which one is it? Of course popular movies has more exposure causing them to be many people's choice. Come in and tell us what your favorite score of 2000 is, whether it is a mega movie like Gladiator or the box office failures like Thirteen Days and The Legend of Bagger Vance.

I'd have to say that The Patriot was my favorite score of 2000. It's another Williams classic, IMHO. But I have yet to listen to a lot of the acclaimed 2000 scores like The Legend of Bagger Vance, so it might not be my favorite for long.

I haven't heard the whole Patriot soundtrack, but I believe it would be the best. That's on GP.

    Close second: Gladiator.

Probably Gladiator, maybe Chicken Run. I didn't care too much for the strong patriotic feelings invoked by the Patriot soundtrack.

I'm gonna have to go with Gladiator, with Chicken Run in a close second.

After seeing Requiem for a Dream, there is no competition in my mind. It is simple, relentless, moving, haunting, beyond sublime.

Close call between "Gladiator" and "The Patriot".

I didn't see a whole lot of movies last year so my list to chose from is quite small. I'd have to say that Gladiator is my number one pick followed by Unbreakable. There were other movies that had great scores but none of them have me coming back for a repeat listen as much as the two I just mentioned.

Some honorable mentions are several tracks from MI2 and Billy Elliot.

I could duck out of this one easily and say

    Fanstasia 2000, but

I havn't really heard any of this years title sound tracks.

This years best comilation sound track it a tie between Charlies Angles and What Women Want.

Unbreakable had a really good theme, but it was repeated too much with too little variation to make the soudntrack really good.

I agree with you Mastadge that Unbreakable didn;t have a whole lot of variation. But what it did have seemed to work really well. Gives me goose bumps everytime I listen to it.

I haven't seen many 2000 movies, but I'd say The Patriot.

Gladiator seems like a popular one. I liked Unbreakable's score immensely, too. Very nice fit with the errie picture.

BTW, I don't think Fantasia 2000 would count. The music scores we usually refer to are composed for the film. Fantasia is exactly the opposite, each frame is composed for the music.

Nice choice, CTHD really has a good score. A really mournful theme runs throughout. It has both eastern and western style of composing.

My vote goes to CTHD for the amazing quiet yet mildly epic score that happens to draw the movie out till the very end helping the plot along very well.

Oh yeah, Traffic has a memorable score as well. It is totally different from most scores since it has neither a symphonic sound or strong key themes. Instead, it sort of goes with the mood with the ambient sound. Not for everyone, but works well with the film.
