Gettysburg (Civil War) , Where Eagles Dare (WW2), and Von Ryan's Express (WW2). All these are great movies that I would enjoy watching numerous times over and over.

Band of Brothers. Nothing even comes close.

Also, Sands of Iwo Jima is a really good movie that I don't see up there.

I really disagree with your loose definition of "war movie".

I love Patton, Apocalypse Now, Tora! Tora! Tora!, and even Midway. But they are not on this list. I voted for Casablanca since I think it is one of the best films of all time, and it is certainly set during WWII.

Schindler's List, but I really like The Patriot, and also We Were Soldiers, not listed on the poll.

Band of Brothers (although it is a miniseries, it is still one of the most amazing things ever to be put on film)

Black Hawk Down would be my favorite war movie.

This list needs to be redone. Half the movies up there aren't even war movies.

I don't know, war movies aren't movies I watch often.
I voted for others, thnking of "Sophie Scholl- The last days". It is not actually a war movie, but a real good movie that that takes place during a war and in a difficult time, and since a lot of those listed movies are not real war movies, I figured, it couldn't hurt.
But I have heard, that Schindler's list is a well-made movie, too, so I'll have to watch it soon as well.

A War-Movie is different than a movie set during a war.

    Okay, okay...I back down;)
So, a war-movie...I would say "All quiet on the Western front" too, because I think it is a really well-made movie with a deeper meaning.

I'm stuck between several, including Apocalypse Now, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Hamburger Hill, Kingdom Of Heaven (DC), but seeing as none of them are up there it's got to be other :p
