Hmm now I have to find it and watch it. It has been years since my last Dark City watch. I am sure that I have it in my collection.

I didnt want to do a new thread for this so i just placed in the one that was on top. I watching the season premiere of "How I Met Your Mother" the other day online and it had so many Star Wars refernces in it. It was hilarious and if you can get the chance I highly recommend watching it.

M*A*S*H. Loved it 20 years ago, still love it now, and my kids even love watching it. Found my daughter watching the final episode this afternoon and it was still as good today as it was back then.

I also loved Freddie "boom boom" Washington. He was a classic. Did anyone watch Kolchak: The Nightstalker? About a reporter investigating cases which had a supernatural feel to them

The one where he was confronted by a flesh eating monster that looked like his dear old Aunt....scarred the crap out of me at the time.

Yes I think I was scared by the same episode in my youth. I used to love it watching it late on Friday nights. Great series which influenced so many including X-Files and Supernatural

My oldies favorites would have to be The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt.

LordVaderFF gave me the box sets of Outer Limits and I'm being going through them steadily. Tell ya what, there's some mighty fine stuff in there.

And because I didn't get mine in on the first run...

My top ten, in no particular order:

    1. The Goonies.
    2. Willow.
    3. In The Mood For Love.
    4. Schindler's List.
    5. The Dark Knight.
    6. The Blade. (dir. Tsui Hark)
    7. Napoleon Dynamite.
    8. The Passion of the Christ.
    9. The Killer.
    10. The King Of Comedy. (dir. Chow Sing Chi)

I own a LOT of movies on DVD / Bluray, and could continue to list my all time favs, but this list should suffice. Hooray for movies!

oldbenk I have not seen any of those movies in your top ten... They have strange titles. What sort of films are they?

Here's mine, in order... I'm going to struggle to get to 10... so I'm including trilogies because otherwise you wouldn't be getting a list of 10 (I propose a top ten tv series..)

    1.The Blues Brothers
    2.Star Wars originals
    3.Ace Ventura 1 & 2
    4.Life of Brian
    5.Matrix 1 & 2
    6.End of Evangelion
7.Transformers (cartoon movie... how good is the 80s soundtrack... HOW GOOD IS IT??!!!)
8.Indy - all of them (even the last one, I thought it was just as whacked as the first three!)
    9.Mon Oncle
10.Ghostbusters (Dan Akyrod & Harold Ramis = Comic Gods)

    1. City of Lost Children
    2. Pan's Labyrinth
    3. 28 Days later
    4. Star Wars
    5. The Thin Red Line
    6. End of Evangelion
    7. Hell has Harbour Views
    8. 2001: A Space Odyssey
    9. Lost in Translation
    10. Requiem for a Dream

Although as with any top ten, there are another 30 or so that could have easily snuck in, these are just the one's that came to mind first. :p So by no means definitive!

I don't rate Lost in Translation. But I rate Scarlett Johanessen. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... And Bill Murray, but on a different level of course.

Yeah, it's odd that it's snuck into my top 10, because I can't actually put my finger on what captivated me about the movie. I think I might have just been the right headspace when I saw this movie a few times in a row and it's stuck with me. :)
