Yes, it's that time of year again. Inspired by the resolutions threads of [link=http://boards.theforce.net/a/b1/17873344/]last year[/link] and [link=http://boards.theforce.net/a/b1/14427698/]the year before[/link], I'm starting a new one asking people what their writing resolutions for 2006 will be.

    As for me -

    1. I will lurk less.

    2. I will finish at least one of my WIPs.

    3. I will not start posting a new story until I've finished writing it.

    My resolutions? Well, let's see....

    1. Lurk less, as well and become more active on the boards

    2. Finish T.J.E.S. - Sunset of the Republic and T.J.E.S. - Dark Tempest Rising (maybe start work on part III, Empire of the Phoenix, if I have the time)

    3. Review all of the stories that I love (and it's a whopper of a list! :D)

mmmm sounds pretty much like mine... though I would add...

    4) remember WIPs not just a year after I started posting... and in the process lose all my readers.

and ... HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE...

EDIT: ummm did I mention that I would write a certain piece I promised a friend some ages ago? (roughly around the time I signed up here...)

    1. Leave more reviews/feedback.
    2. Finish my LiveJournal fanfic challenge.
    3. Expand an older fic into a story worthy to be part of a trilogy.
    4. Learn to write good romance fics that hinge on the romance and characters, instead of depending as much on plot or experimental writing styles.
    5. Pay more attention to characterization, all the time.

    <Sighs at her list>

    1. Finish the half dozen WIPs on hand. Before:

    a. they are locked and buried in the vast abyss of the Boards
    b. everyone forgets that the story did exist, and say something like "Oh, that one...I forgot how it went...'

    2. Not take anymore sock-names than I can help. Anonymity can only go so far.

    3. Leave more feedback.

    4. Participate in a few more challenges (especially the Ridiculously Specific Challenge)

Looks at my 2005 list and :_| I don't think I completed one thing on that list. Hopefully this year will be better.

    1. Finish my long, too long, forever long story, Betrayal. It will be done! Damn it!

    2. Read more stories and leave more feedback.

    3. Pay more attention to POV when writing. :p

    4. Write more short pieces and never, ever post before they are finished.

    5. See #1 [face_worried]

    6. Try to participate more in the character threads.

2: edit and post some of the fanfic I have written at home
3: when editing what I've written, actually make sure it more or less conforms to accepted chronology
4: finish the fanfic that I started
    5: lern too spel
6: don't spend all my time on this site when I need to do homework

    This is so embarrassing.

My resolution for 2006 is the same as my resolution for 2005. And 2004. And 2003, come to that.

    Finish Shadow on the Stars.

    1. Actually post something here instead of in my blog.
    2. Ignore crushing sense of foreboding that will inevitably come when I do start to post something.
    3. Work on WIPs at normal times of day instead of in middle of night which not only causes sleep deprivation but fuels caffiene addiction destroying my kidneys and giving me high blood pressure.
    4. Try to salvage already posted WIP that is just sitting there at chapter 4 or 5 and is most likely not sorely missed.
    5. Work on confidence in tiny modicum of talent collected over my short lifetime.
    6. Read more fics in the Before genre so I can get a feel for what exactly people write there.

    7. Challenge self to write OUT of comfort zone(ie write evil jaina instead of leia or qui-gon instead of vader)

This year, I resolve to do the following:

    1) Finish Blue Side.
    2) Pick up all the Ridiculously Specific Challenges I missed
    3) Not start too many ginormous stories.
    4) Learn how to write combat
    5) Learn how to write evil

Oh yeah, and work on finishing my majors, neither of which include fanfiction. I should keep that in mind. [face_blush]

    I resolve to...

    1) Just sit down and write instead of dreaming up hundreds of fics and never doing anything with them! *sigh*

    2) Write a humor fic (Yeah, that'll be the day...)

    3) Write that multi-chapter fic I've had stewing on the back burner for half a year...

    4) Read and review more stories! :D

    5) Teach my padawans all I know. [:D]

    I'll join in!

    The offline stuff:
    1. Finish what I begin
    2. Ship off the novel, it's not doing anything sitting here.
    3. Graduate college!
    4. Stay alive. It's rather amazing I've gotten this far already. ;)
    5. Get my car an oil change. It's been too long.

    Fic stuff:
    1. At least finish Shadows Fall & an old Pirates fic.
    2. Review more.
    3. De-lurk more often! I guess that could go hand in hand with review.
    4. Be a good padawan, of course. :)

And then of course there's the whole world domination bit... MWA HA HA.
