    To me, Black Widow is too big of a release for D+ as even though I know there was a lot of anticipation for Mulan, I would not put that into the same category as a MCU full length movie.

    And I will go off and say they will push Black Widow to the summer of 2021 because really the mass vaccinations *fingers crossed* will not be taking place until Q2 of next year (hopefully) therefore until that happens, people will not be feel comfortable going to movies in bulk. Tenet is doing okay all things being equal but I think the movie studios are going to hold off everything that has a big price tag until next summer.

    They'll want space between BW and Shang-Chi, though. Worst case scenario, BW will get a run like what Tenet had hoped for- smaller opening, longer legs and, by time Shang-Chi hits, you get a final BW boost ala BP before IW and CM before EG from people doing doing features.

    Disney hasn't officially released any figures AFAIK. Everything that's been mentioned has been third-party estimates, I believe.
    And if it had done well they'd probably issue a press release

    @mods need to change the month in the title of this thread to July. :p

    I'm bummed out Black Widow was moved back, but it was doubtful that I would have been fully vaccinated before May. And with Disney announcing that Black Widow will be available on Disney+ the same day it's released in theaters pretty much means it's locked in for the July release.

    The new title of this thread reminds me of the deluxe Black Widow action figure. When it was released last year, it was $29.99 and free two day shipping for Prime members.

    The delay is a little annoying (was starting to make plans with friends to see who could make the trip to see the movie) but understandable. I agree that the D+ announcement makes it unlikely to be pushed back again- and though I thought for a moment that, with the added delay, it's possible they could rescind the D+ announcement and go only for theatrical depending on how the next 2 months go (since the May release would have made the announcement a lock, as it runs right up against the "everyone gets access to vaccines" target threshold and potential CDC guidance revisions), that also seems unlikely at this juncture (you would need to see unrestricted capacities at theaters reinstated for a reversal to become a serious option, since it would put "making a profit on this movie" back on the menu).

    I like that they decided to do more of an Avengers focus/recap instead of spoiling too much new footage. The Russian choir variation of the main Avengers theme was an interesting touch, as well.

    Stealthily? I got a notifications from both my Regal app and a Movie Tavern email at 9:35 AM this morning. I bought tickets for the wife and me for Tuesday, July 13th at the Movie Tavern ($5 Tuesdays FTW).

    I have the Regal app as I used to frequent the theater in King of Prussia while the wife would go to the mall to shop. I haven't been there since early 2019. Now we live closer to a Movie Tavern which is great because we make Tuesdays a date night as they have $5 tickets, free popcorn, and the ability to have food and alcohol delivered to your seat or picked up before the show.

    I haven't check in a while, but I believe being a Regal rewards member is free while AMC charges a fee.
