What's Going On (All Star Tribute to The Victims of 9/11)

I know this is for a good cause, and I get why Bono, Mary J Blige and Alica Keys are there(And to a lesser extent N'sync, Britney, Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, and the hundred other people). What I don't get is why Ja Rule and Nelly are there.

Did the people who organized this tribute even take a look at the lyrics?
