I suppose it might be interesting, one thing I wish had been done at some point was to have a story about the Vong regaining a connection to the force.

Given the Vong experienced great pain and anguish when they lost it, a story where they regained it-could be very beautiful and wondrous to read about. Mystical, eschatological even.

Never should they regain a connection to the force.

Eh...I think it would be appropriate if they did at some point. Them losing the force starts their whole intergalactic exodus and journey. Regaining it, would serve to conclude the Vong’s story of lost innocence, alienation, and trauma.

Do we know that, or is it just a theory?

It’s what Harrar says and what is revealed at the end of the series? I see no reason why not to take it as canon.

Gaining their connection to the force is the opposite of what we stand for. Sounds like a redemption story. We don't need a redemption story.

In Wookieepedia it is stated that Zonama Sekot jumped into hyperspace again to give the Yuuzhan Vong all the time without any interference from outside to regain their connection to their lost homeworld. I think that's more important than to re-connect the Yuuzhan Vong with the Force. But Zonama Sekot as a powerful force wielder itself will know when the time is right to tackle also this challenge. In Legacy 11 "Ghosts" Cade Skywalker isn't able to sense the approaching Yuuzhan Vong in the Force, but that could had been a branch which never was on Zonama Sekot at all. It's a pity we don't know more about the Force-regaining issue. The Yuuzhan Vong w/could have been a crest of brave, wonderful Jedi.

Apparently there is another Yuuzhan Vong deity that I wasn't aware of. At least I don't recall.

According to Wookieepedia, this deity was only introduced in the complete SW encyclopedia in 2008.

Makes me wonder who this deity represents.

    The infidels? The damned?

    @jhc36,
The Goddess of the workers? When all the Yuuzhan Vong workers go on strike, the other casts haven't anything to laugh anymore. ;)

Did the Vong have any ranged infantry weapons? Fire arm or blaster equivalents? All I recall are thud bugs and amphistaffs shooting poison. I don’t recall them having much in the way of ranged weaponry-at the infantry level anyway.

There were Plasma eels in TUF for the common warrior. And in Dark Tide, there were tank like crawlers, who could fire.

Think that question was asked and discussed in this old thread: But what does it use as fuel?: Yuuzhan Vong technology - question and discussion

All I can see is thud bug launchers. Beyond that the Vong were indeed a melee centric force in terms of infantry. (Though they did have tank equivalents).

Maybe something of a creative oversight, or their armor was just that good. I dunno. Does crack my SOD a little.

    Suspension of disbelief.

That is that the Vong had no ranged weaponry equivalent to blasters or fire arms or other projectile weapons.

And yet somehow conquered half the galaxy.

I enjoyed going through that thread, thanks Gamiel! I wondered if 'tech' like worldships may have had employed some exteremy buff photosystem and gotten energy through photosynthesis.

ahh... very nice. If one we were to get something like this. Filoni hasn't forgotten about us, so there is still a chance one day.
