Hey is the Zam Wessell figure especially rare or something these days? (in the UK) I am not seeing it anywhere, not even in speciality shops these days...any word?

Edit: Locking thread as you seem to have an answer to your question

No KB in the UK. Found it strange to see all figures but Zam in Forbidden Planet and a shortage in other stores, too.

    Zam Wessell ????!!!!

It was pretty cool having a recent thread on Coleman Trebor, but Zam Wessell?? She's so abundant at the K*Bs here in Texas that the stores are paying people to take them off their hands. Well.......not quite, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to that someday. :p

ObiWan316, we really did not need a thread just about this, but I'll answer your question anyway...

Forbidden Planet is a sci-fi store, so they are basicly ripping you off big time!! They buy figures from the USA and then sell them at high prices because it costs so much to import them (alot of people want figures real bad, and will pay high prices). Toy shops are the best place to get cheap figures, but the main places like Woolworths only stock a few main figures during movie times. The best place to go in the UK is The Entertainer high street toy store and even better is their online store www.thetoyshop.com (it has hundreds of SW toys, rare ones and new ones).

As for Zam Wesell, well at the moment I think she is only avilible on the Hasbro UK web store and at some Toys'R'Us stores. The reason she is not in Forbidden Planet is because they have not imported any recently, probably because demand is so low for her. Old figures are harder to find, you really should know that!! And Zam is over a year old. In the UK its hard to find new figures let alone one thats a year old.

My advice to you is buy her online at one of the places I said above, and not from FP, £8+ a figure is crazy. She was less than £3 in Toys'R'Us.

    :)

Perhaps I should know better, but I couldn't afford to buy much last year as I was in the final year of my postgrad. I've just got a decent job,so now I can afford to collect a few things, that's all. Found it easy to get some bargains on the more popular characters, but for some reason I wasn't seeing much on Zam Wessell. I pointed this out to a friend, and he agreed. So I thought I'd post here about it. Thanks for the advice

As I hope you could see from the little smilie face at the bottom of my post I was not being horrible to you ObiWan316, just wanted you to know the facts. Cool.

As for your comment PhantomMenace, I agree with it.

My Comment: "Old figures are harder to find, you really should know that!!"

PhantomMenace's Comment "Where I come from, new figures are harder to find."

Yeah, some old figures are more common, all those Jango figures and Anakins littering the shelves. I think what I ment is that the amount of some old figures gets low as they are bought by people and so are then harder to find. And as the years go past its a job trying to find ones you might have missed. Here in England we get very few new figures and theres hardly anywhere on the high street that sells SW figures (just some specialist toy shops and sci-fi stores).

    Hope that clears up that.

    :)

You can't walk into a toy store in Phila PA without seeing one. Unfortunatley, most stores, that is all you see.
