Unfortunately they will as that actually would be a problem, since Lucas has stated Sith Force Ghosts aren't a thing.

Not that the new trilogy cares a lot about established canon.

Is it really nihilism though? Sure he's definitely depressed, but he believes in the Force finding something new without him, blah, blah.

 

Aren't there only 8 episodes? More than 50% of this show has been filler episodes at this point. In a miniseries of this sort, that's pretty unfathomable. Across the whole show to date, the only thing that has happened is a bounty hunter found a baby and decided to keep it. That's at best two episodes of material, and they've eaten up almost an entire season. Can we please have some direction?

I'm always super critical when I start watching a new episode of the Mandalorian. With every episode, they have to convince me it's worthy of my time. My highly reserved stance was probably formed by weathering years of Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons.

So when I like an episode, objectively it's probably fantastic.
I liked episode 6.

 

Initially they planned to make Baby Yoda a single season. Baby Yoda is such a massive hit that the show will henceforth be the adventures of the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda. No larger story arc needed. Just the trials and tribulations of raising a child while being chased by every bounty hunter in the galaxy. It will be fun to see some of the season 2 changes. For example when Mando opens his gun closet a changing table also pops out. There will be a multi episode toilet training arc but other than that it's The Fugitive + every Western + GFFA + Baby On Board

 

Hell I'd read 28 volumes of it if it were a comic book. Maybe another 8 if they did a reboot, like "New Mandalorian and Cub." Er... Baby Yoda.

 

There are definitely worse templates for Star Wars. Like Star Wars. Stop using Star Wars as a template for Star Wars. That's the one weakness of Mandalorian: constantly referencing Star Wars.

 

The plot is basic, it can easily be resolved in the last two episodes.

Mando confronts Greef Karga and the Guild, plus whoever wants The Child.
Or he confronts one of those and the other is saved for S2.

 

Or Mando gets killed, and Baby Yoda gets killed to have his force power extracted. The whole thing is a Snoke origin story. And in the last seconds, up Pops a grinning Rian Johnson.

 

Loving the inspired casting in The Mandolorian.

 

My son tells me that Fortnite just did a special in-game showing of a scene from Rise of Skywalker, because promoting things that aren't Fortnite from inside Fortnite really is a thing.

 

But what if I don't want to play Fortnite?

This isn’t even the first cross promotion they’ve done with Disney, they had some Thanos thing for a bit. There are just so many eyeballs on Fortnite that special ads are inevitable.

Anyway it’s indicative of the level of hellworld this entails that I’m just glad they didn’t roll out Star Wars themed randomized cosmetic packs.

 

On the upside of seeing it a second time, if it sucks, the theater has a bar.
