But perhaps the greatest confusion came from Kenner toys, who produced the Zuckuss and 4-LOM action figures with their names reversed. It was not until Galaxy Guide 3: The Empire Strikes Back came out in 1989 that this error was corrected.

Like the 2ndQuest said, it was due to the toy mix up. Also, all of this info is available on Starwars.com in the databank. It's quite easy to research actually.

I wouldn't trust the toys. Back in 78' they called the toys: Walrus Man, Hammerhead, Snaggletooth and Death Star Droid. Instead of their real names: Ponda Baba , Momaw Nadon, Takeel (&) Zutton and RA-7.

Quite "generic" names at the time. Besides even recently they named in 02' a figure "Nikto Jedi," for AotC.

Kenner screwed up back in 80' or 81.' Simple as that.

Either way, they're both droids. Otherwise, why would a bug's torso be sitting in a room full of junked droids and other metals ready to be recycled? Kenner screwed up in the 80's, the EU writers screwed up in the 90's.

    Zuckuss isn't a freakin droid.

4-LOM has a Gand shaped head, it's not that complex an idea.

Or are you assuming that 3p0 is human because he has two eyes and a mouth?

Look at the pic on page 1 of this thread. The head and the entire upper torso are one piece, which has clearly been dismantled and is now ready to be destroyed. A Gand slipped that entire thing over his bulbous head?

Perhaps it's a droid designed by the Gand. Most species in the GFFA designed their droids after what they look like.

or it's movie logic that they just reused somthing to fill up the scene and isn't supposed to have any meaning - otherwise I'm sure EU had picked up on that meaning ;)

Sorry, the "It's just a movie" thread inspired me to post that...
