Or he could have had a protective vest on underneath his Jedi garments that could block blaster bolts, but they still actually had his body to examine. You're saying Asajj was able to put herself in a death-like trance to temporarily end her life signs? Obi-Wan did that with some type of drug in Deception, so it's feasible.

    DF: Hello?

GL: Hey Dave, I was just thinking. Remember how I said General Krell was definitely, positively, absolutely dead, and I wasn't changing my mind?

    DF: Yes...

GL: Well, I got to thinking about it and...

    DF: NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at least Krell still being alive wouldn't trample on the story already established by the movies...

Had Grievous gotten the chance, he would've wiped the floor with him.

Grievous has no Force powers, him defeating a Jedi as powerful as Krell would be absurd IMO.

I think you mean NOT ENOUGH lightsabers!

Clones are smart and numerous. Grievous in TCW is neither.

BS, Grievous is a military strategist, and has took out clone troopers left and right.

I assumed the suggestion was that Krell and Grievous have a lightsaber duel, not that Grievous shoot Krell in the back unawares.

Not a very good one it seems. He was outdone by gungans and continuously loses. A strategist with a reputation for running away is no strategist I would want.

    Dooku must really coddle Grievous.

CIS Officer: OMG, Grievous failed AGAIN! I have never let you down, Count. Put me in charge of the droid armies and I will lead our forces to victory.

    *Grievous begins to cry*

Dooku: Look what you did. Shame on you.

CIS Officer: How many billions of credits in droids and ships have we lost on his account? He abandons our forces. He-

    Dooku: He's trying his best!

You realize the problem with Grievous is the show pretty much uses him like a standard incompetent minion? He's pretty much the Goldar of TCW which doesn't serve what his character is supposed to be.

Well, given his portrayal, I see no reason for him to be continue to lead the droid forces. I mean, generally a captain is not supposed to abandon ship until the last possible moment. If the ship is taken damage, then he needs to make every attempt to save it and the crew. If it's going down, then he should be organizing evacuations until the last possible second. Granted, the crew is droids, so I can understand that he's not seeing to it that all the droids make it to the escape pods, but even from the standpoint of the corporations running the CIS... that's got to cost them a whole heck of a lot of money to build giant cruisers, destroyers, and all the mechanical minions operating them. But as soon as he runs into trouble, Grievous pushes the nearest droid out of the way and makes it to the escape pod and sacrifices it all. That's not the makings for a great military leader or strategist. Those are the makings of someone that would likely have been demoted a long, long time ago - and if the crew were made up of people, he'd likely be sitting in a prison. Which as you said doesn't serve what his character is supposed to be. Quite the opposite in fact.

    Only in his dreams.

But Krell is dead so who cares, he's a bigger nobody than Maul.

In his dreams he dreams of an Imperial Order and becoming Dooku's apprentice. Kind of set his sights a little low there.

But on a serious note, I am kind of confused/interested in the future he saw. He says he foresees the Republic being destroyed from within, which I interpreted as a reference to Palpatine overthrowing the Republic and establishing an Empire. But then he turns around and says that he's going to become a part of it by becoming Dooku's apprentice. Apparently he didn't see Anakin or Palpatine? And he saw Dooku as being prominent in the Empire?

Whole thing got me thinking to how I don't know that I would actually mind if they did an occasional "what if" episode to explore things like that.

I think there are few members here who are bigger supporters of the good general. And even I will admit, no way in gods green earth, general grievous would defeat krell. At least not this version. The original version of GG would mow Krells lawn no doubt. But the current, nerfed version..Not a chance.
