Speculation Romantic Couples

Who will be the big romantic couples in the ST?
I think that Anakin Solo and Tahiri would be interesting, as well as Ben Skywalker and Vestara. Of course, Han and Leia will be married.

 

It may in fact be two characters we've never even heard of before. If it is two characters we have heard of, I vote Jaina Solo and Jagged Fel.

 

Not Ben and Vestara. She's a Sith for goodness sake! I vote Jaina and Jag or Tahiri and Anakin Solo.

 

Jedi romance could be ineresting to see luke's thoughts on the issue as he restores the order. Anakin's feelings for tahiri could play a role in whether or not he follows his gradfather's path

 

Why so many EU names when they won't be getting used?

Is there any reliable official word on how much of the EU will be used? There could be EU characters but a different continuity. A jedi romance would be an issue for Luke as he rebuilds the order and tries to look at his father's legacy. Jedi romance could be a symbol that the new order is better, whether or not a descendant of Anakin Skywalker is involved.

 

either way if they follow the formula, episode 8 will be the one that has the love story.

 

Good point. the LI (love interest) could be a few things. It could be two jedi in love. there could be jedi/non-jedi romance. possibly a darkside user trying to seduce the protagonist. each one would have unique complications. i hope the romance is ha/leia type flirting

One of Disney's first comment's, is that it is to be an origional story, using nothing from the EU. Or words to that effect!

wasn't that a fruit punch drink? or am i thinking of Tahitian Treat? Tahiri Velia is a jedi turned sith turned bounty hunter turned imperial agent turned jedi again who was Anakin Solo's little girlfriend in the EU.

 

But will they use any of the character's? we must look at exact words and post links to sources. many runors and misquotes are flying.

We don't even know what characters are going to be in the film, so how can we possibly speculate on this?

My guess is there will be some kind of man-woman couple. Dunno. Just a hunch.

 

Jaina Solo and one of Luke's students. Preferably one who dabbles in the dark side.

 

An original story can borrow already existing characters. like i said, i want a jedi to fall in love. it can show that the new order is better for allowing jedi to marry, and it can show how the path of anakin skywalker has been avoided by the new generation

Lando& Mara Jade (did Mara hook up with Lando first before going to Luke? I forgot)

 

*sigh* I'm not sure who wrote the thing with Mara Jade and Lando being a couple (Bad pairing in my opinion, it just didn't work) but Zahn... who basically is the creator and overall best writer for Jade retconned the Lando - Mara relationship into being a cover for a secret mission. I doubt we'll see it.

I would like to see that Nomi Starkiller that was floating around the early Star Wars drafts as Luke's sister show up... maybe as a daughter or *gasp* granddaughter of Juno Eclipse and Starkiller. Maybe a Ben - Nomi pairing with the sister bit of the background shifted to Jaina as a cousin?

I don't know... I'm just throwing out ideas atm.
