It must be quite an accomplishment to discuss Carrie's return to the Star Wars franchise on the same level as a 10-year-old boy pointing and laughing at the fat girl on the playground.

    This is scintillating stuff.

It just get's awfully old when every thread about the big three gets overrun by fat, bipolar, and drug jokes.

Exactly. People just love to go nuts with this stuff. What you stated is exactly what she could be doing, and it's annoying that the interviewer didn't seem to realize that the question she answered was just "can you confirm?". That's all. She is capable of confirming, but he didn't actually ask her "are you in it?". I hope she's trolling everyone by taking the most literal way of interpreting the question and the most literal way of answering it.

    1) I really hate the term "The big three"
    2) Why are there multiple threads about the same topic?
    3) It's just the internet... relax. We all love Carrie and are excited about this, as well. We're just having fun at her expense... that's what people do--we're goofing off. It's Star Wars... there's no need for it to be all serious biz. There's no need to take it personally. If I was there, I'd give you a hug and a rice cake.

I hear you've outgrown your speedo... you could probably use a rice cake, or two.

    Hi jasman. [:D]

Has anyone read her book? I haven't. She seems to have a good sense of humor about herself.

But how is making fun of someone's weight or health issues actually fun? How is making fun of anyone for any reason actually fun? It's an internet forum so that gives everyone carte blanche to act like schoolyard bullies. But I guess I'm just a n00b and I don't understand veteran "humor".

She does. From what I've seen, she'd laugh her ass off reading this. Seriously... she's a tough woman. She can take it. She doesn't require a fanboy army.

    1) Sorry you hate it. Thankfully no one is forcing you to use it.
    2) Not multiple threads about the same topic, but any thread referring to them inevitably dove tails into this.
    3) Not sure how wanting to actually discuss the topic at hand rather than joking about a real woman's weight and health disorders (A situation very close to me with family who struggle with it) means I am taking this all to serious and personally. All I keep saying is it just gets old and frankly juvenile. It just isn't humor that I personally enjoy. Not trying to police your humor or anything, but it just gets really old.

I don't recall anyone in here making fun of her bi-polar disorder. Then again, I only skimmed. But fat people are funny (ie John Candy, Chris Farley, John Belushi, Vin Eethy, etc)

No jokes just opinions that she is incapable of being in the film because of it.

I said people are acting like bullies. Making fun of anyone even on an internet forum is acting like a bully.

Well maybe it really isn't in her best interest to put herself into a situation that she would lose control in. Just sayin.

Well we agree on one thing. I doubt very much that Carrie gives a flip about a bunch of juvenile remarks made on the internet.

But it's inane. And apart from a superficial shock value, boring. How any thinking adult can feel that a series of lame fat jokes is great entertainment is beyond me. Like I said, so you've proven that you can discuss Carrie's return on the same level as a fatuous child. Congratulations. You must be very proud.

As a sister with bipolar disorder who is still fully capable of living a full and normal life. I would have to disagree. Just sayin.

In all seriousness though I get what you are saying. She may not be up for it. I think it is a bit silly for random fans to be the ones to decide that though

Anyone up for a change in topic? If this confirmation turns out to be true, what development do you hope the character has had during this time gap? Still in politics? Started a family?

I think you may be exaggerating my responses. You asked questions, I answered. I'm just bored with it now. Move on.

I would love it if she were leader of the Republic at this point. It would also be great if her rivals in the Senate or the new enemy used her father's legacy to undermine her administration.
