Maybe this could be compared to Ben Skywalker shutting out the force for so many years because he was repulsed by Abeloth's touching his mind when he was young. Similar to an invasion of privacy that Dalien thinks his sister Lanoree imposes on him.

Bought this on day of release, just started it tonight. I was really surprised by how well written the first chapter was. Hope the rest is as well crafted. Tython really comes to life. It's a wee bit short, though (the novel). I guess I can't get enough of this era. Would love a sprawling trilogy or something! But so far, so good!

    Got the copy!

    Things to like:
Preview of Dawn of the Jedi: Prisoner of Bogan
    Ostrander short story

    Things not to like:
    Total 300 pages!

Damn certain it wasn't always tagged as that. For all that quality matters, if I'm buying a hardback I want more than 300 pages save for very special cases!

To be honest, I'd rather have a tight, well put together story that feels full and worth it than a really long book that drags. It's worth the money IMO.

Well, hopefully, after I've read it, I'll feel that way too, but I'm not after a doorstopper, 350-400 pages suffices.

I felt the same way upon getting it, but the story ended up feeling very full by the end -- it went through several locations, several developments, and also had the parallel flashback plotline going. It packs a lot of story into that pagecount.

3 Chapters in & loving it! This is SW done right (so far). I love the idea of the pilgrimage, a journey of self discovery; the details about Tython from DotJ Issue #0 that have not been touched on yet in the comic; the religious-mythological aspects; and brother/sister relationship at the core; and the 'big adventure story' framework. The writing is easy to read & fluid. So far, so great!

I thought this was a very good book. Exploring the Tython system was very interesting. I hope there will be more books set in this era.

The whole dark matter causing black holes was a bit odd though, but very good overall.

Finally got the book a few days ago and started it. Pretty good, one of the best Star Wars novels I have read in year.

I'm going to wait for the paperback version. The hardback just takes up too much space on my shelf (which is getting pretty crowded already).

I prefer owing a physical copy. I have books I have read from libraries or digitally and which I then went and bought for my shelf. I'm that sort of nutcase.

I'm going to start reading this very soon (probably after I finish the Han Solo trilogy) and I'm really excited.

The Glove of Darth Vader discussion is still going on.

And there are rumors that there might be rumors about Episode VII.

Tell the book to turn itself into a paperback or magically expand to 400+ pages.

Check your Library. There is a big library movement to have more Sci fi/Fantasy stuff.

My library sucks, I had to get the some Bantam run and NJO on loan from other libraries when I read them a few years ago.
