I'll let this thread stand for now, but lets discuss general bad guys in the Spin-offs. I've edited the title to reflect such that.

 

now when you say general do you mind clarifying? because if its vader or palpy nothing personal man but how much more can they really beat that to death?

 

As in, a general discussion on who the Baddies might be for some of the Spin-offs, not just casting picks.

The villain for the Han Solo movie has to be some sort of gangster or pirate. Jabba can be involved, but he can't be the main antagonist since they'll need to be strangled or decapitated.

Yeah, like who the bad guy would be for a Han spin-off that is rumoured or the Yoda and Boba Fett rumours.

I'd like a new Imperial Officer to be the bad guy for a Han spinoff... someone that has Chewie as a slave and who Han frees.

 

Hopefully not written by a slave of de Sade.

 

now that i think of it why not just do a bounty hunters movie instead or tales from mos eisley cantina? ( who dosent love that classic bar scene?)

 

Well, since both of the confirmed spin-off main characters are underworld figures, I would have to say maybe crime bosses a la Jabba to whom they owe money, crossed while working for another crime boss et cetera.(Possibly a little too similar to the whole Jabba thing) or maybe Imperials like cdgodin said- that would work nicely with the Han spin-off.

 

i know this was random as hell but after all the flack lucas got for the pt trilogy ( i liked 3 out of the pt) do you really think itll be easy for anybody new coming in and have to worry about and think omg if i f this up fanboys and fangirls will be pissed?


if i remember correctly kevin feigie ( who is the brains behind marvel studios) stated he has plans for marvel up until 2021 wich is huge for disney and ( imo not fegies) very well could affect production on future star wars films if there so devoted to marvel.

thats why i feel if they want a sw film every summer of every year they need a feigie of there own for it that way they can plan far along ahead without hitting bumps in the road.



i know alot of people say oh itll never happen but disney has a golden opperutnity right now to pull a marvel and plan ahead with star wars in regards to spin offs.

 

You make a good point, but IMO the prequels had more problems then just characters. I think fans expected too much and that caused a good chunk of the hate (although I don't hate the prequels I think some of it is justified.)

I think that if Disney is going to be sucessful with the spin-offs and sequels and avoid another prequel problem, they will have to plan ahead and I think (and hope) they will.


Also, just a minor thing with your post- Isn't there only three prequels? ;-)

Yeah, my fear is that Disney will monetize Star Wars too much. It pretty much a given that they will, but really? , a film every year? Can't say I like that, but we can only hope that their QC department keeps things up to snuff

 

i mean i really dont think its a bad idea at all but my main question is will the spinoffs be charachters we allready know or will they go deeper into by doing something like a dash rendar orgins or a creation of the jedi temple and order

I think they'll stick to the more well- known characters if they make more spin-offs (and they will if these are succesful.)

 

issue is though lets say they decide a boba fett film 10 years from now do you really think jeremy bullock would be healthy enough to do it?

thats the reason why im so pro bring in like a B list charachter and turn them into a A list charachter

 

No, no, Disney definitely wants to invest in a character many SW fans don't even know.

I pray Disney comes out at some point and let's the fans know, as gently as possible, that most of the EU will be struck from the record.
