ok one. i loved good will hunting thats it. i never saw argo or the town so i cant really say. now at first i was mad but now im starting to warm up to it. but dude cmon lets be real the only reason why hes batman isnt because of his acting ability its because of 2 films he did for wb that won him 2 oscars and made a huge bank of money so for wb its a no brainer.

i can be one of those fans and say he killed daredevil but the reality is as much as im iffy on this casting ben didnt ruin daredevil. the person who wrote and directed it did.

and who knows maybe snyder ( who himself has a mixed fan base and who i like ) may have affleck become a more better batman than fans want to admit. only time will tell man when the movie drops in 2 years and everything right now is pure speculation and really fear.

i know people like to use ledger's joker for an excuse regarding the batfleck casting but the man is dead and let him rest in peace. nobody can be ledger just as much as nobody can be chris reeves even though i loved henry cavil as superman.

people need to pull there heads out of the past and focus on the present.

if affleck sucks hey he sucks but if he really pulls through as batman i think it will change the minds of people who went as far as to have the white house ban him from comic films.


and if ben is such a great director hey more power to him thats great maybe thats something he could stick with depending how batman vs superman turns out because if your a great director why give that up if you know alot of people arent fond of his acting ability.

 

Well, no...

He's an A-lister primarily from his directing -- not necessarily from his acting. Plus, his last serious action film attempt (Daredevil) was still in the wire-fu phase, so his fighting capability (or ability to LOOK like he can fight) is still suspect. I'm still more likely to imagine he's going to want to screw Lois Lane somewhere uncomfortable or that he doesn't particularly like dem apples, rather than imagining him as having significant acting chops.

If you look at what Marvel has done with their casts, it's surrounding the "weaker Phase 1" links (Thor, Cap) with Oscar-nominated talent for ACTING, rather than directing (though Kenneth Branagh certainly fit both as director of Thor). I didn't hear one person complain that Affleck wasn't nominated for Argo for his performance in the film, but that it was a travesty (which is was) that he was snubbed for directing the film.

If the rumor on the table is that Affleck gets this in order to direct JLA -- more power to them; I think he'll make a fantastic director (geek cred + fantastic director == good mojo). I just think he'll make a piss-poor Batman, all things considered.

Having said all that: Bieber dying as the opening shot of the film would be glorious...

 

Yeah, I have no real interest in joining the anti-Affleck internet insanity -- I'm neutral on the pick -- but I'm so tired of hearing the defense, "He'll obviously be great because he's an Oscar-nominated director and writer!" Yeah, I get it, Affleck is hot again now because he started directing good movies. But "of course he'll be a good actor because he's a good director" is pure nonsense. The fact that he can direct is not a response to criticism against his acting. Are you people also fancasting Martin Scorsese as Commissioner Gordon, Sam Mendes as Alfred, Edgar Wright as Robin, and Wes Anderson as the Joker? I don't get it.

 

I've never said he will be good in the role (at least for that reason) just that the claim that it is a stunt casting is wrong.

 

It's been almost a month guys. It's time to move on to hating the next thing.

This symbol. Seems to happen a lot when Superman penetrates stuff.

 

I think he means the three glowing lights, which do honestly resemble the Brainiac symbol



That said I'd figure a full blown 'hint' would've been more obvious and a split second image like in the world engine was either a complete coincidence or some cgi animator put it in to be clever.

 

Oh! Proof that Brainiac will be in #2. Which is good, because Saintheart loves Brainiac!

That'd be...a very busy movie (and perhaps not in a good way) if there's a shred of truth to that rumor...

EDIT: Of course, maybe it's a red-herring and the female in question could be Mercy (Luthor's bodyguard), which would still be all kinds of cool.

Although it'd be pretty ballsy of WB to just kickstart everything with a movie with three leads as a sequel to the summer's biggest let-down that didn't perform as well as they had hoped. Pretty ballsy.

 

i thought mos was great. im not a superman purist but i loved the hell out of that movie.
