    It's not the best photo, but Dennis Drinkwater (the dude in the white shirt behind home plate) didn't disappoint.

    I'm not ashamed to admit that I got slightly teary eyed as the final out was recorded, and as the celebration ensued... despite my usual tendencies to root against Boston franchises, sometimes the moment, the year/season is special & good enough for that to take a backseat.

    Thanks for posting that. I realized this morning that I forgot to stay up to watch McCarver sign off. You might think it's a good thing now, but you don't know who's going to replace him. We might get Steve Lyons or Eric Karros for the next 10 years.
