FOX is really playing up the fact that it's been 95 years since the deciding game of the World Series has been decided in Fenway.
It's not the best photo, but Dennis Drinkwater (the dude in the white shirt behind home plate) didn't disappoint. I'm not ashamed to admit that I got slightly teary eyed as the final out was recorded, and as the celebration ensued... despite my usual tendencies to root against Boston franchises, sometimes the moment, the year/season is special & good enough for that to take a backseat.
I'm sure Bobby Valentine is convinced that the Red Sox would have still won it all if he was retained as manager.
I think you talked me out of committing suicide after the Boone home run. Damn, that was ten years ago.....
It should have been a Cubs-Red Sox Series. I think about five people watched the actual Series that year.
Time to watch other teams overpay 40% of our rotation - including Jimenez - and hope that doesn't sink next season and torpedo our momentum.
Thanks for posting that. I realized this morning that I forgot to stay up to watch McCarver sign off. You might think it's a good thing now, but you don't know who's going to replace him. We might get Steve Lyons or Eric Karros for the next 10 years. Amazing.
Y'know, now that I'm aware of Yellow Headphones Guy, I can't help but always notice him. It's slightly distracting.
