What is the difference and which one is chips in proper English?

 

So what are chips called in the UK?

We call French Fries, Chips; We call Chips, Chips.

 

In good old NZ we call everything chips....no need to reinvent the wheel

 

I thought you called them Chups in NZ?

Hmm, so far Culry Fries are the Global Identifier. If we ever make contact with aliens they will know what our best fry is.

 

"Culry Fries" ... you should trademark that!

 

I am in fact a decent speller. My typing on the other hand is...shall we say...shy of 100% accuracy.

 

Just for the sake of this thread, I'll say French fries.

I do like me some o' those onion rings though, and thus that trumps any kind of fries.

 

All other fries suck.

 

And then we find out that the aliens are allergic to potatoes, that they think we tried to poison them, and henceforth declare war on our planet.

 

Replace the nasty warm cheez-whiz with real mozzarella and add sour cream, and I'm in!

On the bright side, this would bring the potato gun into actual wartime use. That's kind of awesome in an odd way.

And I voted for curly fries, though I like 'em all. Steak fries are also good. And Stephen Fry. He's delicious.
