    Greetings,

So I know the Knights of the Old Republic comics are old news, but I've recently acquired Omnibus Volumes #1 & #2 alongside regular Volumes #7 & #8 amid the holiday sales.

After reading all of the comics (I still have yet to purchase the remaining volumes), I'm curious as to why Rohlan is so protective of Jarael. I was originally assuming she was a romantic interest of Rohlan, but it seemed evident to me it wasn't after the last minute scheme setup by Zayne to save Jarael's back from Malak on Wor Tandell. If anybody can tell me what's going on between the two, it would be greatly appreciated - but try not to spoil any of the remaining volumes (unless it's not part of a major plot point), and thanks in advance.

Answering this question would definitely qualify as a spoiler, if my memory is right. Read on, and it should be answered.

As if the bold part has ever prevented a discussion on the Lit Forum in the past. Welcome!

I've actually been moving backward in time with Star Wars.

I suggest that you write out your theories right here on this board.

BTW, Knights of the Old Republic just barely edges out Star Wars Legacy as my favorite SW comic. John Jackson Miller does an excellent job here.

I agree, his writing is outstanding!

And as for my theories, I'm still hoping she's a romantic interest of Rohlan but I'm also under the assumption he formerly operated with The Crucible on numerous occasions and/or was an affiliate of them. Adoptive father? I'm throwing it out the ballpark with my guesses.

Well, Rohlan if I remember was a rogue Mandalorian, who was put on the front lines to die for his insubordination.

All right, so I just finished Demon, Part 4 - the volume and that issue was simply breathtaking and amazing. It's sad to see it go, but good thing I ordered War as well.

And then I replay Knights of the Old Republic.

While more KotOR is good, War is honestly rather a letdown after Daemon. The downside of cancelling a comic during a great run, then trying to come back later and recapture the magic.

I enjoyed War. I felt like it was one of the only Star Wars stories to have genuine political complexity.

    I really liked--

    1. the depiction of armies being driven by forced conscription. Like real life.

    2. Light side Jedi who nonetheless oppose the Republic.

Aww, sweet KOTOR nostalgia. Just to think of all the threads that were posted concerning the mystery of Rohlan... ;)
