Because it was a terrible Superman film? Of course, they still nominated Star Trek Into Darkness and that was a terrible Star Trek film, so it's not apples to apples I suppose...

 

They nominated freaking The Lone Ranger, quality was not even a slight concern in that category.

 

Also Iron Man 3, I don't think its visual effects is impressive compare to Thor 2 or MoS.

 

Clearly the Academy just hates Superman.

Like DC does.

 

What if MOS2 had Kate Beckinsale?

 

Reeve's Superman did win the best visual effect and it was a special achievement award, also other 3 nomination.

That's a six month old warning, it's no longer applicable. But I will say drop the Kate Beckinsale angle. On the flip side, restrict all calls for moderator action to PM or Report.

 

That's another intriguing bit of casting rumor. I know that at this point Lex Heisenberg seems like a fanwank longshot, but Joaquin's Commodus was so entertaining I might be willing to give it a shot...if that rumor were true, of course.

 

More rumours added to the pile - Donal Logue denied being offered the role of Jim Gordon for the Gotham show, but now it turns out he was (apparently) offered the role of Harvey Bullock.

Healthy dose of salt with this one, seems to be the third time someone's had to make a statement to the effect of, "WHOA WHOA WHOA I was just speculating even though I never used the word speculation this is what I actually meant."

 

Don't mean to kick a dead puppy, but MOS should've at least gotten a VFX nom at the Oscars mainly for being the movie that Michael Bay probably takes a cold shower after viewing.

 

Best CGI Cape in a Film: Man of Steel. Jokes aside, yeah, considering that the cape alone was CGI far more often than you'd think, it deserves a nod for VFX, but then again it's not a major snub or anything.

 

... except they're moving ahead with The Flash in two mediums and he's an upcoming a) movie and b) cameo in BvSvWWvJL...

 

I don't understand why so many people calling MoS horrible with no reason other than "he killed Zod!" Most of the Marvel movie villains got killed as well.

I'm looking forward to BvS and I haven't watched MOS yet but I've heard good things and bad things. I hope it's alright music is a bit meh.(so far I listened to the title)
