Could care less. He's top 10 for me personally.

Rather sad how many terrible films are on that list.

Spider-Man 3 and The Dark Knight Rises are the only ones that chap my ass. I never saw the point in remaking it, but I don't harbor ill-will, per se, against The Amazing Spider-Man.

I'll take the 3 DC films, Spidey 2, and the new Cap, which is bloody amazing, and the best thing Marvel's done.

That being said, Jabbadabadoo's post had nothing to do with my personal preferences, there are a gazillion "RANK EM!!?!" threads for that. Those numbers are impressive.

Before we get Don Woxote in here, praising SM2, I would point out that Spidey's movements and sense of humour are best exhibited by Garfield's take and not the mildy retarded Maguire version. Spiderman must have personality; hence why the casting of an actor defined by a total lack of one might not work.

Kind of frustrated, myself, at the lack of celebration over Superman's 75th anniversary last year. There was one short included on the MoS blu ray and maybe one (crappy) comic.

Batman, meanwhile, is living like a king ALL YEAR LONG.

The Superman short was magical though. Different to the Batman one, and in my view, actually better. The Batman one was a slightly new take on the B:TAS methodology; the superman was unbridled joy.

I'm not just talking about the shorts (and Batman's had two - with heavy BTAS influence, yes, but still two distinct takes on the character, and I suspect we'll see a few more), I'm talking about how DC's approaching it. There's tons of Batman 75th anniversary merchandise available but none for Superman. The way the 75th is being handled is also notable - there's just more coverage and discussion. I'm a huge Batman fan, but it just seems endemic of DC's "whatever sells" strategy. Their competition is winning because their competition is willing to try new ideas.

Also, they have made Superman into a total **** in the New 52. This should be called out.

Because it's a big summer action movie? Because they're already paying him to stand in a costume and have a good-looking chin? Because whatever, Snyder's a decent director, visually speaking?

Basically, because when you contract a director for a movie, you usually contract him for at least one sequel to that movie unless it was an abject failure. Which MOS was not.

Right, this is the sequel to the not-quite-sequel. What's your point?

And Snyder is definitely not a decent director visually-speaking. Cam work on the fight scenes and flying scenes blew...

The point being that even if they wanted to, they likely couldn't get Affleck to direct it because it would mean breaking a contract with Snyder, which would've cost the studio a lot of extra money on top of Affleck's no-doubt sizeable paycheck to pick up a directing job. I think it's more likely he might have a director's chair in the one after this, if at all.

Christ, the negative hysteria over every single piece of news attached to these films is getting ridiculous.

I, for one, cannot wait for MoS2:BvS and JLA, the movie.

I intend to become excited if, and only if, an Aquaman casting is announced.

I rewatched Flashpoint Paradox because **** you, that's why. Anyway, Aquaman looks ridiculous in that. Like he swallowed three bodybuilders.

Aquaman would only be cool if they had Kaldur and Black Manta.

EDIT: Also if they more or less excluded Aquaman from any meaningful role.
