An epic showdown through time and space. Have the literal fabric of the universe ripped apart by Abeloth/whatever. Have some uber-bad be revelaed as the ultimate cause of the Vong war, Jacen's fall, and a lot of other crap, then literally everyone (cameos should include as many characters as it possibly could) unites to take down the uber-bad. Force ghosts of the the solo brothers return and the solo family fights as one once more in the epic conclusion to the expanded universe. This must be written by James Luceno.

I still have hope something like this might happen.

They could brand it as "Star Wars: The Final Legend" or some other hokey-sounding thing.

After watching Twin Peaks, I want the finale novel to "Legends" to be a rescue mission mounted to rescue Jacen from the Black Lodge, upon the revelation that Caedus was his shadow self manifest.

Haaah. I seriously thought (at one time)this is what we might end up with in "Fate of the Jedi". Learning the fate of Jacen, with Caedus being like some Force-projection of his darker impulses.

Would have made Allana way more interesting, too.

    Never seen Twin Peaks, though.

It would work well in SW IMO: in Twin Peaks there is a White Lodge and a Black Lodge -- with some insinuation that they're (forgive me)

The series finale concludes with the protagonist entering the Black Lodge to rescue someone taken there, and escaping. However, the stinger is that the protagonist didn't escape at all, but his shadow self doppelganger did.

Alan Wake, which was inspired by Twin Peaks among other things, has a similar story element with Mr. Scratch, the evil doppelganger of Alan Wake:

So if Jacen encountered his shadow self in, say a monolith like in Crucible,
    [IMG]

and two men enter and one leaves, and the one that left is Caedus and was the shadow self, then perhaps Jacen is still stuck on this monolith, and could even be found while questing for the Mortis dagger.

Edit: I really appreciate the poetic way that this sort of a follow up would out-denning Denning by reframing his series the same way he did the NJO.

Palpatine comes back, destroys the Jedi, and resumes work on enslaving the entire universe. When he reaches Earth, he buys Lucasfilm and produces the sequel trilogy.

Malleus, from Star Wars insider 147 (wookieepedia him, and then be amazed at just how deep the EU goes), returns and takes over the One Sith of the Legacy era. Then, the last surviving member of the Vos clan emerges to lead the Jedi where Cade no longer could. Big battle. Happy. The end.

I know. The worst part is that while maybe 49% of me - let's call it that the adult percent - thinks that this, finally, is just too much, the other 51% of me wants a mini-series detailing Malleus' exploits across the galaxy.

I MEAN REALLY WHO DIDNT THINK WARB NULL WAS AWESOME IN TALES OF THE JEDI RIGHT IM NOT IMMATURE AM I?

    *ahem* excuse me...

There's not going to be any more Legends material, I think Crucible was the end.

If this is to be a finale novel, as in one novel, I think a Six Feet Under style montage would be awesome. They could break the book up into parts maybe even an Tales from style anthology. Each part would show where the characters arc end, while being part of a larger whole. We could see Luke pass Ben the torch to the order after the birth of Ben and wife's (Seha Dorvold maybe?) first child, Jaina becoming the first Queen of the Empire while her old friend Tahiri Veila helping her train the Imperial Knights. Leia and Han retiring somewhere near the Consortium to be near Allana, Tenel Ka teaching her daughter to be a Jedi Queen.

The backdrop story could be some political intrigue that requires each character/chapter to participate or be involved, which will show that the seeds are being planted for where the divide happens from GFFA to the reinstatement of the Empire under the Fel Dynasty. The final chapter would be a summary of how that conflict went down (something along the lines of Several years after Shifty Politco Whatsisname caused such and such conflict...)

Did you watch the movie? The movie is better than the entire second half of the series.

I watched everything over a decade ago, but I have been rewatching the show on Netflix (finished it last night). I have the movie on DVD somewhere.

It's twenty-five years later! They need to revive the series! The best part of season two, IMO, is the Sycamore Trees song from the series finale. It was okay up until BOB is found. I was skeptical of Windom Earl but he was okay I guess.

Nero, chasing Spock through the red matter black hole, pops up in the Star Wars universe along with Bill & Ted, Marty McFly and Doc Brown and The Doctor and they all time-travel wipe out the history of the Star Wars galaxy aside from the movies and TCW because Leeland Chee gave them a post-it note as to what would be saved.
