ST Daisy Ridley (Rey) in Episode VII

Right now we don´t know who is the third member of the trio. If Gleeson is Luke´s son, I would find it extremely weird that the heir of Anakin and Luke is not a key part of the story. If Gleeson is part of the trio, then I expect someone not to be a Force user. And given the gact that there have been rumors about Ridley´s character being specially athletic and acrobatic, I could perfectly see her as a Jedi. In fact, I think she is the safest bet to be a Jedi, at least on the first movie. That would leave Boyega as the non-Force user. I would be pretty comfortable with Gleeson being Luke´s son and the master of Ridley, and Boyega being a renegade Imperial that turns to the Rebel side because he falls in love with the Solo girl. It would be a completely new dynamic and it would be nice to have a girl with powers protecting her boyfriend.

The Other option is the one we all know: Gleeson is not a Skywalker, or he is but is not key on this movie, and the trio are Boyega, Ridley and Isaac. If this option is true, then I expect both Boyega and Ridley to be Jedis and Isaac to be the Han Solo.

But again, option 2 is the safe bet, the one that mimics the OT, which is less original. Specially trying to repeat the Han Solo thing with Isaac. Option 1 would be much more refreshing, because would mean the oppsite to the PT. Skywalker (son) is the master instead of the padawan, the girl is the powerful one, and his couple is not Force-sensitive.

 

How does option 2 mimic the OT? Option 2 has 2 Jedi, the OT only had a Jedi in training with 2 non-jedi

 

Sounds like fun. We are going to get a kidnapped princess again, but this time she will turn her kidnapper to the good guys. The reverse of the John Snow-Ygritt story.

If she is Han and Leia`s daughter then I`m looking forward to scenes between her and Carrie Fisher. I wonder what kind of advice Leia would give her.

 

Probably to stay away from "stuck up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerfherders".

I'd have a hard time buying a mere Stormtrooper kidnapping a Jedi, and it being a female Jedi kidnapped by a Stormtrooper is kinda sexist.

 

No, Han is the one that stashed it away in the Falcon's smuggling compartments.

 

Sorry to break it down to you but Leia was kidnapped like in every OT movie. And allways by guys. And about Daisy being a jedi? We don't know how far she will be in her training. And of course Boyega will most likely be a jedi later so it is not a mere canon fodder stormtrooper but a stormtrooper with latent force sensitivity.

 

She doesn't have to be captured. Maybe she captures him after setting a trap, one she had been planning to do all along. Maybe a certain uncle sent her to retrieve him for the cause.

 

I wish for the life of me that I could credit the person who posted this a LONG time ago (about a year ago maybe). I loved the exchange so much that I saved it. Now that we have Daisy on board, imagine this scenario, adapting it the way you see fit to create more of a surprise element and introduction to characters:


A Wookie, 20-something Female and Companion (or two companions) are locked up. Two Armored figures come to transfer them, take them to their execution or something. Chewie leans over and starts sniffing at one of the armored figures. Female and companion try to whisper about making a break for it and Armored Figure #2 says "quiet". Female is seen picking her binders. Female says "now!", knocking Armored figure #1 off balance and grabbing the pistol in his holster (he's also got a rifle). She lines up a shot on him and Chewie knocks the blaster from her hands. Armored Figure #2 pistol whips or rifle butts the companion into submission. Chewie runs over and hauls Armored Figure #1 onto his feet and starts hugging him.

AF1: Get off of me you big hair oaf! (removes helmet, it's Han Solo, audience cheers)
Female: YOU!!
Han: Of course it's me. Who do ya think it'd be? And where's my ship?
Female: Your's ship? You gave it to me, remember...?
Companion: Who is this guy?
Female: My father. Uncle Luke is here too isn't he?
Companion: Who's Uncle Luke?
Han: What where did you think you where doing...?
Female: The Hutts are up to something slimy and...
Han: The Hutts are always up to something slimy, their Hutts!
Female: They are running guns and stuff, not little stuff like blasters, but big stuff, guns, shields, the kinda stuff you'd put on a cruiser, a lot of it and we where following it...
Companion: We were?
AF2: Dammit Solo, we don't have time for this. (Bad guys start to approach)
Companion: Look, I don't know who you people are but this is more then I signed on for...

After some more bickering it's established that Armored Figure #2 is a new Episode 7 character

Since somebody here mentioned Game of Thrones, I actually wouldn't mind a scene with Daisy and Boyega/Gleeson (basically whoever loses their hand) kinda like this (where she basically peps talks them into realizing that it isn't over for them cause that person probably now feels vulnerable)

Also shout out for Gwendoline! In fact I wouldn't mind seeing her character be in a "Jaime/Brienne" kind of relationship that like a big back and forth arguing but still respect one another and doesn't end in a romance (cause that's too obvious)

 

Not really the same u can get a fully functional replacement hand in Star Wars easy. Quite frankly I forgot Luke lost his hand.

 

Yes but what if that person doesn't have that replacement quickly (like they are somewhere desolate and don't have the technology on hand) but whatever

A lot of folks are convinced (for obvious reasons) that Daisy Ridley is the daughter of Han and Leia, but that may not be the case. I was just re-reading the audition information for Episode VII, and the female character grew up in a rough town with her parents having been dead for quite some time. When you combine this with her character being involved in the Tatooine scenes, the likelihood of her being related to the OT heroes goes down considerably.

Unless there's some bizarre scenario in which Han and Leia dropped her off on Tatooine (as a baby) with foster parents who later died, but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The only other scenario I can think of is that the backstory info from the auditions was deliberately wrong to throw us off the scent.

 

Just descriptions used in audition to see how prospective castmembers can quickly relate emotion based on a general description given.

 

I don't know. The descriptions were purposefully kept vague, but they could still be accurate.

 

If you're talking about the 'Rachel' character from early auditions I think the general consensus is that she was either from a very early version of the script and written out of later drafts, a composite character invented just for auditions or, given the ethnic descriptor for Rachel, possibly related to the role Lupita ended up with.
