I wonder if Jar Jar will somehow end up crashing the party as well.

I love that bunny hat. They should make Harrison Ford wear it. He'd probably make the same face.

Sent from a loaner phone with horrid autocorrect. Expect lots of errors.

I can almost categorically say that Maul will not show up in the ST or anything post-ROTJ. The vast majority of the audience believe that Maul died in the Phantom Menace. Because unfortunately, nowhere near the amount of people watch TCW as did the actual movies.

As such, Maul may well show up in rebels and NU novels, but screen wise, I think he's done.

He doesn't need the bunny for that, grumpy is his default emotion.

So yeah, I'm almost certain Luke or Leia or one of their children will end up being the one to kill Maul in the new EU. Perhaps even this rumored grandchild of Kenobi.

Nah, it's more likely Kenobi's granddaughter will fight Maul, but then realise Maul is just misunderstood, and the two will get together.

Sorta like Vos and Ventress, just without the surfing.

You forget, Maul would be Obi-wan's age... [face_sick]

    Unless he's frozen in carbonite...

And then there's the audience that doesn't want to take TCW as canon

Carbonite, magic, Waru juice, there's lots of options.

Wouldn't Maul living past ROTJ contradict the Chosen One Prophecy? Then again the ST will probably throw everything on its head anyway and have Maul be the villain of the ST. If true, the ST will not be my continuation of the Saga. The NJO series will be.
I honestly hope he dies and stays dead in the Clone Wars. Should have just been Savage but too late now.

I think Darth Sidious is synonymous with the Sith and an imbalance in the Force.

I still think he's in Lords of the Sith.

I suspect we're getting Vader v Maul in Rebels.

In a book, comic or animation? Very good, I'd say, if they don't kill him off in a previous era.

The biggest problem with Maul living past RoTJ is explaining why Sidious kept him alive that long.

I'd definitely like to see them tangle in the new canon, and don't want Maul to live past ROTJ, or even up to ANH in fact.

I sincerely hope Maul is DEAD for good before RotJ. However, given what a marketing stint he had for Ep 1 I won't be surprised if he does survive to post original films.

Also, the Prophecy comes under question because - technically speaking - not all the Sith were destroyed.

    That could be resolved with

"The Jedi (and Lucas) interpreted Bring Balance as Destroy Sith - but it was never officially stated in universe - so Disney can retcon it"

It doesn't even require a retcon.

The noun Sith operates both singular and plural. There was never, ever anything in the Prophecy to state it referred to all the Sith [Order] plural, and not the Sith [Sidious] singular.

Disney could pull a whole planet of Sith out of Mickey's rear end and say Palpatine had just been an exile, and it still wouldn't contradict anything in the PT.

Going back to Maul's age how old was Palpatine by the time of ROTJ? If Palpatine can survive for that long then Maul who is younger should in theory also be able to. I don't think he'll be in the ST but I wouldn't mind seeing him.

I think they pushed their luck enough having him in TCW.

Maul would be near 60 (in human years)
