I have to say, university housing directors are awful. Let's find craigslist housing in Portland...

My dorms were good... but kinda overpriced. In NYC. Chances are if I tried I could have found better accommodations for less. Of course, you were only eligible for a meal plan if you lived in the dorms. [face_frustrated]

I hate the meal plans, but I find it inexcusable that I would get a housing notification e-mail a week and a half before term begins. Thanks for the window, people.

I think I got a month's notification. A week is pretty bad, though.

We did have a decent meal plan. $1000 per semester. Though, sometimes I got better deals around the city than in the caf, given the hundreds of fast food places within walking distance.

Seems like I found out my assignment in July before school started in August. My dorm rooms were OK; communal bathrooms, not so much. Communal washers and dryers weren't fun either. I was stingy enough with my quarters that I would make sure I washed a Wookiee-sized load in a TIE-sized washer every time ("I don't think the Empire had ten bulky sweaters in mind when he designed her, Chewie") whereas some rich chick would inevitably hog the washer for an hour and a half so she could wash her imported three-figure scarf by itself.

My meal plan was a dollar amount, and of course everything remotely nutritious was more expensive. Chicken fingers and fries were cheap.

I hear you on the laundry anakinfansince1983: I was cheap as hell with my laundry card.

I'm lucky my school had no communal bathrooms. And while my dorm the first two years had a kitchen for every room, the second dorm I stayed in had just one communal kitchen. Wasn't too bad, except that I was one of the few who actually cleaned up after myself. There were a half dozen sinks and they'd always be clogged because why bother cleaning your food scraps out of 'em? [face_sick]

I actually liked the communal laundry room. They had TVs and cute girls, so I wasn't too put off by the ridiculous rates.

Oh college. You were... something else.

I used to, stopped in 2005 or so.

I will say that the new "black" collection and saga collection are pretty well done though. I was impressed when I saw those the other day.

I used to have a webcomic with my action figures before AOL shut down their webservice without warning anyone. [face_sigh]

I have most of my action figures in a plastic ziplock bag somewhere. I'll most likely buy the new Rebels ones just for fun though. I also have that force trainer thing.

When I taught middle school, I had them displayed around my classroom. Eventually I put them in a box and let my kids play with them. They're still in that box, except for the few I have still in plastic.

I don't know if I'll start collecting again or not, but it was fun for awhile.

This. I got a ton around the time of the SEs, but that was it. If I ever see any at either yard sales of flea markets then I'll probably get them, but I don't actively collect them.

As such, I don't have anything newer than '99 or so. No TCW figures for me. [face_mischief]

I have two Ahsoka figures on my computer desk next to my mini LEGO X-Wing. The young version and the older version. Both with sabers drawn, ready to kick some butt!

As a child of the 80s, naturally I had a bunch of star wars figures and toys. Sadly those are long gone.

I have a Yoda bobble head on my monitor. :p

The comic book store I used to go to had replica lightsbers that cost like $200 + dollers. The Anakin one was really nice. They also had a bunch of old action figures that were at pretty decent prices.

I found a replica Ventress saber online for $400.

Too bad my bank likes me to pay my mortgage, my car likes to have gas in it and my refrigerator likes to have food in it. :p

I've seen a LOT of ROTS Anakin action figures over the years, it's one that keeps appearing over and over again. There's a new 12-inch one out now.

Are those from the SW cookbook? I saw it on Star Tours at Disney and was tempted to pick it up. Seems fun.
