Even if he has fallen, I see him being more of a "Ends justify the means" and falling more in the grey area as opposed to being evil incarnate like people are thinking. That way he can still "save the day" like the rumor said. Hard to "save the day" If you're a villain.

 

Or luke is acting like he is Evil in that picture only to save the day at the end. This would go along with the rumors that Luke saves the day in a "bad way" And he was faking it the whole time and he was hidden underneath all that stuff.

Yes, as we were saying earlier today, if the sequel trilogy really is about "philosophical issues" as George Lucas claimed so long ago, it could depict the debate between utilitarian ethics of the end justifying the means, versus Kant's categorical imperative ethics whereby acts that are wrong are wrong, no matter what the outcome is. If they can pull that off in an action-adventure fantasy story in a way that is palatable for children, they could produce something really interesting!

firstly, cyborg dude is constantly ogling vader's burnt helmet in the pics. luke knew his father and burned his body at the end. there's no way it's luke ogling the mask. luke had closure. it's someone else who worships the idea of vader.

 

So as far as the AT-AT photos, the AT-AT in the first two is in much better shape than in the last photo where "Kira" is sitting on it. It's a different location, too. You can tell by the rock formations. I wonder if the first two are concept art and the last an actual photo of the concept executed in the film? Or did something happen? It looks like she barely has anywhere to live in the last photo. I can imagine it though in the first two.

 

Meh well its all concept art and not all concept art gets used so they can probably downplay it but yeah I would never turn this over to MF at least TMZ pays.

 

I hope he wakes up disillusioned, says screw it, calls a press conference and tells us everything about the film: character names, title, plot, the lot. He has nothing left to live for so he might as well now the "mystery box" has been ripped apart!

 

The only pics I can see in detail are the ones you guys repost. The pics from page 1 & the MF site are so blurry it's hard for me to see anything.

 

As far as leaks go, though, this really isn't that bad, in terms of info at least. We still don't know any character names. We still don't know any of the planets for sure (except apparently Yavin IV). It's hard to glean plot info from just a few isolated photos. And there's always the wrench that this is concept art so we don't know what is actually going to make it into the film. I don't really see much downside for this being leaked - it's only making us more excited for the movie and not telling us anything definitely anyways!

Great pics. Love the AT-AT concepts. Incredible. Had to laugh that the first reply was someone still in denial that leaks might happen.

I can see a similarity to Luke but could easily be another character (i.e. Luke's son or most likely nephew before Driver was cast for example - who would most likely be obsessed with his grandfather). I don;t see any proof of Kira turning.

The pics tell me the film is in very old hands.

But what if Old Jedi Luke has taken on a Sith apprentice? Something about balance in the Force or whatever...

I mean if all of the other Jedi and Sith are extinct, the rules are pretty much whatever Luke says they are, aren't they? He is the heir apparent to both the Sith order as well as the Jedi if you think about it. He has claim to everything and maybe is such a boss that he's become a bit of both and there isn't all that much distinction.

I think this is the most likely scenario, Zuckuss. I've been contemplating that for a while and after seeing this art, it seems like that could be the path they've chosen. Brilliant, if true. I'm too excited to be contained!!!!!!

 

Completely agree with you. That said, I remain very skeptical that such a feat can be accomplished, but I still remain open and hopeful that this is exactly what they're shooting for. We shall see.
