I think it's Max Von Sydow... And the design is an evolution of 1979 concept art shown further down. The cybernetics and their placement is far to similar for them to be two characters in the same film.

 

Yes and whatever else people may think of Phantom Menace, Lucas set himself the impossible task of making a film about politics and political maneuvring and corruption aimed at 7 year olds.

Anywho, I'm still not convinced of the evil Luke rumors. I mean, they could be true...but the mouth on the cyborg resembling young Hamill's could just be coincidence or us analyzing way too much.

 

It's actually Bob Iger looking and obsessing at the potential Billions he'll make from Star Wars.

 

Also bear in mind, the concepts of the cyborg holding Vader's helmet (and I LOVE the idea of Vader's legacy and the shadows he cast being explored somehow) may be character ideas as opposed to scenes that will take place - by which I mean I would be surprised if we see the cyborg casually holding the mask on the bridge of his destroyer.

Great to see that plenty of the pics have made it to the film - but we don't know for certain that all will, so bear that in mind before getting too excited one way or the other. They may well have, but we can't be 100% certain until we see stills that back 'em up.

And man, I love that drunk cyborg.

EDIT - Victorian Traveller - I agree. Could be Luke. Could be someone else. The lip especially is in the eye of the behold. Could be young Hamill. Could even be a woman.

One thing I would say, that cyborg may look similar to young Hamill in the two Vader ones (the one with Kira could be anyone) but he looks nothing like Old Hamill. And the pics make the whole beard false flag theory even more ridiculous.

Bear in mind MSW were told the cyborg was Luke by one source but most sources have said no Darth Luke. So I totally see why they have reason to think Darth/ Cyborg Luke is or at least was on the table (clearly the pics are legit so why would you dismiss outright any info that comes with them), but I also think that mis interpretation, lack of proper context and various other factors mean that, despite these images - putting all the pieces together is still nigh on impossible.

The snow/ duel/ cyborg pics (man that scene is going to rock) also suggest a cyborg villain that is clearly not Luke in any way, so who knows what the real deal is.

But again - main take-away is wow, the pics look amazing.

And in the picture where Cyborg Dark Sider is holding Kira from behind, his exposed eye looks similar to Hamill's, atleast to me. Also, the way his stature is built, looks similar to Mark, as well. But that's a very, very, very outside looking in bit of speculation. I think there's a 0.00001 chance that it is Luke in the concept art.

 

Does anyone else think that baddie with the red saber looks like Darth Malgus? Or a combo of Malgus and Plagueis?

 

Well, this definitely puts a damper on Sheev's coming out party.

 

Also note that roughly half of the concepts look like they relate to the early part of the film, the scenes they shot in Abu Dhabi.

It's interesting to see the artist added the Millennium Falcon, in front of an AT-AT, into the background of the X-Wing-towing Boar-pig art (on the lower left). Probably artistic fantasy of something that won't translate to screen.

 

Will be interesting to see how LFL reacts to this - if at all?

Would be nice if they decided to take ownership back by actually releasing some official stuff.

If I was them, I would take the best ones, in awesome quality and stick them in a little concept teaser with some John Williams goodness laid over, ESB teaser style. But then I would suck at running a media campaign so most likely they'll cease and desist or do nothing.

Vic - I agree - Darth Bald dude looks like a cross between Malgus and Plagueis

 

Yeah, they could do a short video - like Rebels Report - where the artists get soundbites, maybe JJ and KK make a comment. They should do something though, because this likely won't be the end of leaks if they don't get out in front of the information about the film.
