I think this looks more like Carrie Fisher, or a young Carrie Fisher than Daisy.

And it looks like they're backing onto a ship ramp.

 

To me it looks as if He's aiding a dark vision...Kinda like the cave seen in TESB where Luke is alone when he see's his vision...
Here though its as if he's projecting a vison deep in her mind...To see a certain future.

 

If you see the concept art for Ep 1 and Ep 4, a lot of stuff about the characters specific look changes from practically concept art piece to different concept art piece. Nobody really looks consistent over several pieces of art, Ep. 1 had these topknot Jedi samurai designs that aren't anywhere in the film.

Is this the chrome trooper with the Wampa's claw saber on his hip? I don't see it.





It looks like they're playing a game of keep-away with the lightsaber.

I definitely don't think she's trying to run away and leave her companion to die.

 

My interpretation is that she's being kidnapped & the bad guy is backing up onto a ship ramp. The red lights look like tail lights of a small spacecraft.

 

Well, I guess there were articles that mentioned Carrie Fisher's daughter will likely play young Leia in a flash back - so that isn't out of the question.

 

The beard is not a decoy because it's a ridiculous idea. If you're wearing a prosthetic, you don't grow a beard and if you're not wearing a prosthetic then the cyborg pics would have a beard. And there is no need for a decoy because the beard is not the deal breaker in the whole Darth Luke possibility - whether it goes against Luke's character as depicted vs the possibility the filmmakers may want to explore this idea is. The beard has nothing to do with it. If Mark Hamill had show up for filming no one would have though - aha! He must be playing evil cyborg Luke. They would have thought he looked like old Luke.

 

Right, that's the reason I haven't allowed the beard to put any finite ideas in my head - there are many possibilities!

 

Remember they could film things out of sequence too

 

Kira looks great, as does her home. Whatever this planet ends up being, Tatooine or not, they've nailed the aesthetic.

Liking her pod/speeder too, remember seeing something like this created for one of the prequels? STAP concept perhaps?

The "U-wing" looks generic as hell. Is it a fighter though? I see no guns. Could it be an alternate concept for the junk tug?

Not seeing Luke/Hamill either. At all.

Definitely seeing Billie Lourd though. Don't agree that's an embrace or that she's there voluntarily. As others have suggested, she could be being used as a hostage.

As for the whole cyborg thing, I find the half-man, half-machine idea overplayed and uninspired. These images do nothing to dispel that.

All the designs for the Von Sydow/barfly character are dismal.

Not at all what I was expecting from a "wampa claw" lightsaber. I had imagined an ornamental claw on the emitter end with the blade coming out of the palm!

Worth remembering of course that so little of the art produced for these movies actually ends up on-screen. Hence the "grave-robber" looking different in each piece, and the giant rhino-pig pulling an X-wing.

 

Yeah, and that goes with my comment earlier that they could have filmed him with and without the beard.

EDIT: And then if you consider Dra--'s comment about the concept art described (but not yet shown) that the mask is large enough to cover the beard, that adds another possibility.

 

I see where they got this from now....I've seen that pic before, so I did a little research

 

As for Luke Skywalker's alleged turn to the dark side:

Could it be he might be posing as the dark Lord of the Sith? Perhaps he purposely got himself into that position (especially if such 'office' was vacant), so as to attract towards himself any possible new sith adepts -or Vader fanatics-... in order to nullify them one by one, himself. A sort of "attractor of evil".

Regardless, I suspect this "cyborg" might actually be the henchman. In the piece of conceptual art where we see him holding Daisy Ridley's character: I picture them both before Skywalker himself. She has been brought before the true Master.

On the other hand: some have argued that it makes no sense for Skywalker to be digging into his father's grave. I tend to agree: what's the point, after all these years? Why the need, now? But then, as well: who else, but Luke himself, would know the exact location where the cremation took place?

 

I tend to agree with the henchman idea more than anything, but I like to stay open to all possibilities until the verdict on 12/18/2015. And I enjoy fresh ideas over hearing the same ones over and over.... I liked what you said!

In the fight scene in one of the older concept arts the Sith is a lot taller, Muun's are quite tall if i imagine so this could be plausible.

 

"Boyega" doesn't look startled to me here. Looks like he turned it on deliberately to show the others how it worked.

 

Don't know what to say othter then i'm totally blown away by these AWESOME images !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

That or he's not sure he can trust them yet and he's using it to escape from these people.

 

Time for me to hit the sack and dream of lovely concept art!

I've been thinking that Plagueis was a part of this film since October 2012. I will be near disappointment to find out in December 2015 that he isn't :/ - So I am hoping that it's him!!!
