Discussions What Alien species would you like to see in the new Star Wars trilogy?

I would like to see a Bothan character shown as they are described in the EU novels (appearance-wise). The Bothans have been talked about and their planet (Bothawui) was referenced in TCW but we have yet to see an actual Bothan.

 

The novels don't say much other than 'furry' but the comics have depicted them as with faces much like humans, but also with a vaguely lion-headed appearance.

The lion-head is what tended to be used in later comics.

Some more non-humanoid ones would be interesting considering the technology is there to pull it off better than ever before. I hope for more pre-existing aliens than new ones to appear. As somebody already noted, there are more than enough alien species to work with as it is. Also creating a bunch of new species can also feel like a bit of a lazy shortcut sometimes.

 

Personally, I would hope to see Punn Rimbaud's species, Iktotchi, Muun, a wampa or two, and Nelvaanians and Kel Dor. Baragwin would be cool, but that may be pushing it on the number from one person.

Same here. I love the way Bothans look, and I'm glad Zahn didn't make them the species that Orrimaarko would belong to instead of Dressellians.

and what are the "right" characterizations? Beside Thrawn so are most chiss I have seen just background characters in the RPG:s, both the pen and paper and computer one, the only two I can actually mention who have a name are Spiker
