    It's fake.

I doubt Luke would be used in the promotion; the whole point of the ST seems to be about moving away from the Skywalkers and creating a new hero.

THANK YOU. There is actually a scene from Return of the Jedi where his face is half illuminated/half in shadow. It's while he's hiding & refusing to fight Vader. After Vader discovers Luke has a twin sister and suggests turning his daughter, Luke is filled with a dark side rage. This echoes his failure in the cave. In both instances Luke is confronted with the idea of becoming his father if he is unable to control his emotions which brings me to my next point:

I agree "Darth Luke" is taking things a little too far. But a conflicted, scarred, maybe even jaded Luke makes sense. Let's look again:

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Looks like an echo to me. Notice how in the first image he appears to be staring at the right side of Vader's damaged helmet. The viewer is forced to look at the damaged right side of Luke's face. Ask Hamill about his car accident. Fitting how sometimes real life can become art. I believe in this moment Luke is being forced to make another tough choice. Now the Star Destroyer makes a little more sense if he is being held captive or is being manipulated by our antagonist(s). Staring at the helmet in this case is not twisted admiration. It's reflection.

Once again, just because Luke's a cyborg, DOES NOT make him evil. I do agree with you however that the cyborg in the concept art appears very menacing and villain like. I do believe that it is Luke we're seeing here, but given the villain-esque look of the character, I would not be very surprised if this is actually Drivers character. But once again, emphasis on the robotic hand leads me to believe this is Luke we're seeing here. Also, I don't see yellow eyes. In all of the concept art for this character his eyes are dimly red or plain black. And I don't think the cyborg is necessarily looking at Vader's helmet like a trophy. The expression almost looks sad to me. This would be quite the twist if Luke shows up looking not at all like we may have expected, but I would happily invite this twist if it was done well.

But why is this concept placed on the Star Destroyer bridge?

That, I do not know. I do know however, that we have seen 3 different pieces of concept art illustrating this scene (Cyborg holding Vader's helmet). This leads me to believe that this scene holds some importance. Also, in each of these illustrations, the background varies from Star Destroyer, to a dark background with a single source of light, and finally a very blurry background... possibly a cave?

So maybe the setting has changed over the process of concept art? I don't know. It's really impossible to discern the other two backgrounds that aren't the Star Destroyer.

NOT Driver or Van Sydow unless they're really crouching. Look at the height similarity- they're probably family. They have Padme's stature to thank for that.

The masked character depictions have NEVER come across as evil. I curse the rumor floaters for putting that seed in everyone's head. There's a reason why this image looks so much like Phantom of the Opera. The character is conflicted, but despite their outward appearance, in the end NOT evil:

Never knew your mother. Your father ended countless lives. He even tried to kill you. He tortured your friends and cut your hand off. You never really knew him and now he's dead. You were the only one to attend his funeral. You were noticeably absent from the Battle of Endor. What if the rest of the galaxy found out Vader is your daddy? You'd go from hero to zero. And your sister kissed you. On the mouth.

Personally, I think I'd have issues.

I do agree, he had to go through a lot of things in his life, but I really hope his possible 'little' madness is not that sincere and he will help the galaxy once again as he did before. And that he will be stronger than before after the ST. :)
