Han's life wasn't in imminent danger at that moment was it? That was the guy with the most hair being affraid of a bat-like creature... what is the myth that bats do with hair again? Oh yeah, get tangled in it!

Even the mighty Chewbacca is bound to have a fear or two of his own.

EDIT: Whoops, confused my scenes here, that was even less of Han being in danger, as that was after they were out of the trash compactor!

    Nope.

That has never been mentioned on-screen and as best I can recall, the only mention in the ANH novelisation, is in the character profiles in the colour centre pages with the photos.

To suddenly make it an issue would put the continuity out of joint - plus lessen the friendship. Some dialogue to explain it started that way but the Life Debt issue was long ago quashed or just jettison the idea altogether.

That's pretty insulting, I work in film, I'm all for improving and moving technology forward and I'm always excited at the new materials and resources available to me when creating props and sets....that being said if recreating something that already existed (something I've had to do this past week) it's always best to see how the original was made and then understand wether it was any go those processes which gave it it's character. Update the materials and techniques for sure, but it's important not to over do it for the sake of over doing it. IMO they pushed the mouth movement so far that it lost some character. Like I mentioned earlier I think the masks in ROTS were guilty of this across the board.

CarboniteSolo I'm personally hoping he sticks around with Rey visually I can see them working well next to each other.

Rude. I don't see the point of asking for people's thoughts then if you're just going to ignore them.

I think Chewie's mask looks off there.

You will need to explain how I am supposed to have "ignored" you and answered "rudely" at the same time.

You gave your opinion and I disagreed. How many words am supposed to use?

It's possible to rudely ignore someone. You quoted my post, and rather than explain your reasoning for disagreeing, you simply said nope. What is the nope in relation to? The part about how the costumes are obviously different, or my comment that the costume doesn't look bad? All of it, or none of it? A simple "nope" that doesn't directly address something specific is contrary to the concept of a discussion board.

Of course it is possible to "rudely ignore someone" - to ignore someone is itself rude, so it is not necessary to tack rudely to it.

However, I didn't ignore you. I responded. If someone responds to your comments, how is that ignoring them?

And I considered it self evident that I was disagreeing with all of it since I didn't specify anything in particular.

I don't agree that his "chest is more pronounced especially when Yoda is leaving", I don't agree that he is "more blonde or has a cone shaped head", or about his "teeth".

I fail to see how repeating what you posted and just tacking a "No" to the start of it somehow makes it better when just posting "Nope" sums it all up concisely.

It's rude because I made a concerted effort to reply to your post, and in return, you responded with an answer that I took as a non-answer. Nope doesn't answer anything. Explaining the nope with specifics is in keeping with the spirit of a discussion board. Nope does not discuss anything, even if you think it aptly conveys your thoughts. It's like getting an essay back from a teacher with a big red X with no effort made to address where the student went wrong.

We had already determined WHY you it was rude, you have yet to explain HOW you thought I was "ignoring" you.

There is no such thing as a non-answer and I explained why "nope" was sufficient rather than repeating each of the points you made. I disagreed with your views completely - there was no need for me to distinguish each separately.

So, your feelings got hurt because I disagreed with you and responded with a short answer rather than an unnecessarily long one. You could have said that from the outset instead of incorrectly claiming I was ignoring you. Exactly how many words must a person use?

    Wow.

Rather than continuing to run in circles, I am going to demonstrate my stance with photos that support my claims.

Chewbacca is beefier with a broader chest in ROTS:

Chewbacca is more cone headed in ROTS:

Chewbacca's fur is more blonde in tone in ROTS (see any of the above)

Thought putting them all side by side might be useful. Very encouraging to see the TFA Chewie next to the others. Definitely feels like they nailed his look here.

CGI-BOBAFENT, I like the idea of Chewbacca befriending and working alongside Rey.

To be fair, the one on the left was during Chewie's rebellious Billy Idol phase where he wore mascara, greased his fur in a big poof and snarled his lip.

I'm just grateful his 8 pierced nipples are covered by all that fur.

whereas in ROTJ he just capitalised on Han not being there and his bad eyesight to forego combing.

Who was "running in circles"? Not I.

The addition of photographs were unnecessary - I remember what Chewbacca looks like which is why I disagreed with you in the first place - not that the first image would have helped, it is too small to see.

It is also avoiding answering the question of how it is that I'm supposed to have ignored your original response. And now raising the question of why you are so upset about this.

You shouldn't get upset just because someone disagrees with you. Nor should it bother you the number of words they use to express that.

Sure, unlike other people, you were able to actually specify what you saw as issues or problems, rather than the usual jumping on the bandwagon of "it sucked", but all I can do is respond in the way I deem suitable. I disagreed, and did not feel it necessary to type out "I disagree, Chewbacca is not a conehead", "I disagree that Chewie is too blonde".

My response was to the point. Blunt? Okay, but that does not mean it was rude or that I intended it to hurt your feelings. Why would I want to that? I only intentionally hurt the feelings of people I know. ;)

Hoggsquattle... I have been on this forum far too long and have engaged in too many discussions to take things too seriously. I am not upset, though I believe that the condescending tone of your posts is off-putting. I contend that I have outlined my reasoning as to why I thought your post ignored my response to you, because it essentially did as it did nothing to move the discussion forward. You can use however many words you wish in any post, but you cannot assume that someone will get what you mean if you choose not to elaborate.

In any case, I have chosen to step back from this back and forth for the betterment of the thread. The photos I posted were not specifically meant for you, but to demonstrate examples for others interested in seeing and/or discussing them. If you wish to press the matter further, you can PM me. Good day.

Again, more accusations. Where is the "condescending tone"?

You felt my response did nothing to move the discussion forward - okay, but that is a far cry from ignoring it. I responded, therefore I it is not possible for me to have ignored it.

You can't claim to have been wronged while actually wronging the person who is supposed to have wrong you. That is wrong.

You say you don't take this too seriously, but it feels like you are upset. I still don't know why, but there you go.

    Merry Christmas to you.

    ThreeDeathstickProblem,

Did we discuss my my dislike of Picard on a previous occassion?

I'm not sure why that initial image is so small, as it appeared far larger in the preview.

Chewie mask looks wonderful. And, once on screen, through post, and shading added, it's gonna look marvelous.

Also remember. It was confirmed that Chewie will have large Bifocals like Harry Caray. This was confirmed by Joan Rivers on Fashion Police months ago.

To be honest this didn't bother me so much as his face, probably had better gym access on Kashyyk than in imperial servitude ;)
