Would be nice if they got FoCom working. It's another game that technically runs, but it can't detect modern hardware so you can't use advanced graphics while playing. I'm pleased that RS3D and Rebellion are just 5.99. That's cheaper than a Chipotle burrito -- and probably healthier too. Missa ab iPhona mea est.
I'm going to buy every Star Wars game that is released on GOG, every.single.one. Once they are on sale of course! I hope the non Star Wars Outlaws also gets a release.
That's all well and good at first--until you look up and it's 5am and you have to be at school in 3 hours but you just found the Rebel base.
Honestly, half the time I'd play the Empire just so I could ignore tactics and put everything I had into a Death Star.
You've got me curious. How does that enhance Dark Forces? I'm wondering because, I have the Steam version of DF and it's very, very dated, so I was wondering what sort of mods there are out there for it but haven't bothered to really look for them.
Hopefully one day they can put Shadows of the Empire up? Oh that'll be the day. I might get Dark Forces. I think I still have my original PC disc, but have no idea if it'll work on Windows 8.
New skybox, new level models, 3d weapons (instead of painted sprites) primarily, iirc. It should work on the steam version, which is just a dosbox install I think.
News like this is why GOG remains unblocked in my emails- it's awesome waking up and seeing these sorts of announcements! Hopefully we'll be seeing Empire at War, Forces of Corruption (necessary for the Thrawn's Revenge: Imperial Civil War mod), Republic Commando, Mysteries of the Sith, and Jedi Academy really soon...
Ooh, Rebellion, time to find out what everyone else has been talking about for years. Hm, should I wait for a sale, or just buy it now. Oh why not, its only $16 for this and XWA. Even if I still don't have a joystick at the moment to actually play XWA, but I've been missing my XWA CDs for years.
GOG really has become my favorite place to get PC games, even before their jaw-dropping addition of Lucasarts titles. Forget Steam!
REBELLION IS BACK! On some of the larger ships, the cheering went on for hours. Jello & I have geeked out on Rebellion memories for years, so this is awesome news. Can't wait to download it and play it. And best of all? Thanks to the canon reset, the game map isn't a problem now... --Adm. Nick
I may have to pick up Rebellion. I lost my disc for it a few years back If you get XWA, download the XWAUpgrade for it. It's a near requirement.
And is there an Essential Guide to Warfare mod that adds a ton of cool units, rebalances combat, but makes the Bulwark into a tiny "prototype" version?
My only gripe about the Rebellion from gog is not being able to skip the dang briefing from 3PO or IMP22. Used to be able to press a key and have them cry at you (But I've prepared an excellent briefing for you! I do hope you know what you're doing...) Forgot how long that thing can drag on. And when you are as indecisive as I am when it comes to starting new games, it gets a little tedious. Apparently this problem also occurred when using some of the tricks to get Rebellion working on more recent opperating systems (which I assume the gog version uses the same tricks). Anybody have a work around?
