That usually means they are coming out in the same month. The glorious Marvel double-shipping.

 

So here's the deal on the Covers volume:

 

It's weird because there are plenty of other issues being shipped on the same month that receive completely different listings. Obviously it's not a big deal, but I found it curious.

 

We didn't get pictures of two different covers, for one . . .

 

So should we create a separate thread for the june solications like I did last month or should we discuss them in this thread only ?

Indeed it is strange, but past solicitations have had it that way before.

 

I hope they get Jan Duursema.

As everyone has already mentioned, Cassaday leaving is par for the course.

I'm still waiting on a Marvel Star Wars comic to try.

 

I'd say do so here, easier if it's one thread as in about 4 weeks you'll be talking about the July solicits!

Cassaday only doing 6 issues isn't a surprise, will be interesting to see who takes on the job. I also think the allegation that he's a crap artist thrown around by some posters is both unwarranted and unfair. His style isn't to your personal taste? OK, but that doesn't render him a crap artist. There's colouring issues with some pages? That isn't down to Cassaday. If you're going to critique, then critique.

 

I doubt Marvel is going to bring any of their non-exclusive artists this early in the game. But who knows. They sometimes use these A-list replacements to give some exposure to talented new artists.

I'd love to see Immonen, Coipel or Bagley. But Immonen, mostly Immonen.

 

Definitely, the man changes his style for a particular job!

Immonen would be good. Still, I won't to see some more wild art styles for some of these comics.

Star Wars was at DH for so long, did we ever get a Mike Mignola Star Wars comic(one issue even)? Not one that I remember...

 

My vote is Coipel. Love Immonen, but I dunno...I'd rather see him on something with a little more character. If SW is supposed to be the "classic" feeling series, he's a little too...distinct, I guess.

Depends which Immonen we're talking of Coop - Nextwave Immonen, Superman: Secret Identity Immonen etc.

 

So, uh...funny story.

(oh, and Secret Identity Immonen is best Immonen. But yeah, I was thinking more Nextwave/current style.)

Whooo!!! Immonen!!

Yeah, my first thought was really "oh, they'll get in someone new who can either be great or awful" (Which is what happens a lotttt when Marvel launches with a fancy high profile creative team, usually a big gun pencil bounces after the opening arc) then I kinda daydreamed about my picks but, wow, they actually got Stuart Immonen. Well played, Marvel. (giving him a #7 fill-in-the-blank artist.)

Good to see Marvel is putting in a non-Immonen issue in between him and Cassaday to give him lead time. This book is selling so well they're probably pretty determined to not let a month slip (although the spacing in the Cassaday monthly issues is, not surprisingly, getting wider each month). I'm assuming issue #7 will be a standalone issue, probably so there won't be art swap during the arcs.

Maybe that's why Vader is double-shipping a month because they already are reading the signs that Cassaday might slip a month. Eh, it happens. I think it's worth it. And Immonen is fantastic and he hits a monthly schedule like clockwork.

First real exposure to him was Nextwave and he took over Ultimate Spider-Man after Bagley left. Solid artist. And he hits monthly! Can't wait. Great choice. Two big guns on their biggest book, surprising!
