    "Jacu" (unsure of spelling) = name of Desert planet in The Force Awakens - per JJ Abrams in the Celebration panel just now. The location shot in the desert is NOT Tatooine.

    I guess it's time for me to eat the big pile crow I promised. :p I was wrong. I still think it's silly to have a planet that looks so much like Tatooine and not have be Tatooine. Hopefully it'll have some unique differences. Either way it won't ruin the movie for me.

    Agreed on all points:

    * I like the name.
    * I wish it didn't resemble Tatooine so much.
    * I still like the look of the planet.
    * It won't affect my enjoyment of the movie either way.

    Interesting and I like the name but I would have rather seen Tatooine,

    I missed the whole presentation online, so this is the first I've heard of this new planet name. I honestly thought it was Tatooine. It's a little strange they'd have an identical planet and have it be somewhere else. Maybe there's an undisclosed reason.

    As much as I'm relieved the desert planet is NOT Tatooine, what distinguishes this new planet from the aforementioned planet? MSW has mentioned the planet has only one sun. But apart from that, for all intents and purposes, the new planet might as well have been Tatooine.

    Unlike Tatooine, this spot was worth fighting over, given the crashed SD, crashed old-style X-wing, and crashed SSD.

    There may be other cultural or resource-driven differences as well, despite a similar appearance (obviously it isn't "identical", otherwise why are Tunisia and Abu Dhabi different places? They should, like, just merge together, they're so identical). Not every world in the GFFA needs to look entirely unique. Goldilocks zones can encompass many climates, and there are probably tons of desert worlds and tons of snow worlds that share many similar attributes.

    For the sake of the movies, why not make the planets unique? If there are hundreds/thousands of worlds in the GFFA, why pick one that is so similar to the other? It just comes off as creative bankruptcy.

    I bet it's still Tatooine, but with a new name. Like how the new Congo used to be Zaire.

    To bring a bit of a nostalgic environment to the movie, without revisiting the exact same fringe world for the SIXTH time in the live-action films. Constantly going back to Tatooine, the planet furthest from the bright center of the universe, smacks of creative bankruptcy, to me.

    No...just...no. The only planet I wanna see with two names is Moraband/Korriban.

    I would like something different to distinguish it from Tatooine. Maybe snowy mountains in the backdrop like that concept art.

    Well we keep going back there because of its link to the Skywalker bloodline which has been central to the plot of this saga.

    I'm still chuckling at the people who thought a child actor in a dumb video on the Disney channel confirmed Tatooine being in the movie. :)
