ST If Luke is married, what 50-60 year old actress would you cast?

If Luke does have a wife, and her name is Mara Jade, then I think Carrie Anne Moss would be the perfect fit.

 

Julianne Moore. Even if she's not Mara, a red head for Luke's wife would be a nice nod to the fans.

Chastain's expressed interest in SW I think. However, she's not the right age for either option if they want to do a younger spin-off appearance (which would put her in the Emma Stone age range) or an older TFA era version.

No to Christina Hendricks, IMO. Too much of a voluptuous bombshell. Luke, I think, would be married to a more outdoorsy, athletic and adventurous type. Which is why Chastain seems perfect to me.

Aside from Jessica Chastain...Amy Adams would work perfectly but she is Lois Lane now.. (cant really top that right now)

 

She would be my choice if Luke was married and his wife was alive. Great actress, in the right age range, very beautiful and classy but in the sort of way that would fit Luke, and she has done a few sci-fi movies.

 

Hendrick's figure is almost a distraction at this point - the roles she gets would have to call for that specifically for it to work. If they do any younger incarnation, it'd be more likely for them to use a 20-something. They did almost cast Rachel Hurd-Wood as Rey; she's like 25 and her natural hair color is light brown but she worked well as a redhead in Perfume. Or since Nina Gold seems to be their casting honcho, Ygritte from Game of Thrones (Rose Leslie) would work although maybe too similar.

 

They didn't throw his treatments in the garbage, they reworked the script that was based on those treatments to shift focus. Lucas' son confirmed that JJ was talking to George everyday during those reworks. I am 100% certain what GL intended in 1988 made it's way into his treatment and is still present.

I love Rose Leslie and think she did a fantastic job with Ygritte, a character, who on the page, came off a little obnoxious and abrasive. She was even pretty good on Downton Abbey. I personally think she deserves a big break more than Emilia Clarke who I find a bit one-note or Sophie Turner.

 

I loved her character prior to the actress playing her-as a reader. She did a great job though.. she's too young.. as is Hendricks

Angie Everhart for the win as Mara Jade. She is about the same age as Mark I think. Come on some of you have to agree with me on her. Perfect age gap, articulate and would look badass with a purple lightsaber.

She's in 'Legends' and while I doubt (read as Oh please oh please oh please, for the love of all that's holy NOOOOOO!) she'll be in the films, there's no (more) need to rub it in to the people that like her.

it's as much of a 'spec' thread as any, so if people want to play fantasy casting more power to them.
