The clones were pretty much anything but free in TCW series, and it was highlighted multiple times.

In fact I don't think the Jedi even raised a protest when the Kaminoans suggested execution of the 'defective' clone in Season 6, which was surprising to me. Even Jedi written by Karen Traviss were against the execution of defective clones, or completely ignorant to its possibility.

Shaak-Ti always was against it but oddly never said they couldn't--which was weird.

Didn't she say something like "You already sold the clones to us - we make the decisions on them"?

Traviss fans had concluded that already, a long time before. Now Filoni fans seem to be concluding the same.

The fact that the Jedi don't raise more protests about the very concept/idea of the Clones, at least in the films/TV shows, is disturbing in and of themselves. You have an entire sentient race that was created essentially as cannon fodder in a war, and the PT/TCW Jedi seem to have very little if any problem with this. Maybe there's more nuance to it in supplemental materials, but you shouldn't need to read supplemental stuff just to get it. Yeah Obi Wan, the Jedi were sure the "guardians of peace and freedom in the Old Republic" alright. Well except for the entire SLAVE RACE that they willingly led into battle for years, forgot to mention that part didn't you.

I don't think that's ever been a thing in the GFFA. I think clone troopers do age faster, which seems to fit with his Santa Claus appearance.

Wasn't a character in Tarkin a degrading Clone?

Here's my review of the Star Wars: Rebels series.

    A Spark of Rebellion

    Season One

Overall, I'm very impressed with the results, though I wish they'd hedged a little closer to The Clone Wars audience age.

What was the age group of TCW? You wanted SWR to be more childish?

When I was watched rebel resolve, I noticed in the walker chase near the start a stormtrooper got shot in the head - and if you pay attention the scenes immediately afterwords, you see the same stormtrooper start moving and stand up. Interesting bit of detail to put into something happening in the background.

It's very obvious in the free online "Art Attack" short.

The Clone Wars had zombies, frequent deaths, and worse. I think Rebels is about half that. Generally more mature storytelling.

    Edit:

But yes, Rebels is amazing, as STORMTROOPER ARMOR ACTUALLY KEEPS YOU ALIVE!

They did say they wanted it to adhere closer to the ANH tone than TCW did, a lighter more pulp-adventure feel. I imagine the second season, their ESB, will please you in that regard.

And you know, TCW was leading up to Revenge of the Freaking Sith, so obviously it's going to be darker.

Ah yes good old ANH, where a drunk war hero hacks of someone’s arm with a Lasersword because of a simple disagreement. ;)
