Gabriel Gray? Hell no. Not at all. For the amount of things he might get right due to his probably working either at a trailer house or at some marketing second party, his general demeanor and willingness to fabricate things for the sake of gaining followers means whatever it is he might have gotten that's worth paying attention to is worth waiting for it to hit via some other source, which it inevitably will.

I mean, to compare to people like MSW, they may botch speculation or accidentally pass along some bunk info, but they're not duplicitous about it (mostly, there was that weird thing with Conrad, I guess) - they're upfront. There's transparency about what they're doing and why they're doing it, and there's accompanying apologies and mea culpas for when slip-ups happen. There's no b.s. attached to it. Gray is almost *entirely* b.s. The only functional difference between him and any number of the reddit "leakers" is that he's attaching a consistent name to his attention whoring.

I'm not really sure why any details (such as Blindness, what he's wearing, etc.,) matter much at all since Luke is only in 1 scene :p

Really? Why's it *matter*? It matters because this could be a leap forward for Star Wars in embracing the challenged *without* giving a lame technological brush off. It could potentially be hugely inspiring and cause curiosity while combating ignorance and fear of those somehow limited.

Eyes can be very expressive and indicative of motive and mood but they are hardly the *sole* gauge of such things. I doubt very much being blind of it self inhibits feeling or expressing emotions. The fact some seem to believe this is frankly quite sad.

I think it would show how much Luke has moved on, while also playing true to various mythological tropes and also, as Cushy says, why the Hell not have a cool blind Jedi master.

I see zero evidence to suggest this'll happen anyway, but it's a cool idea imo.

Thank you, Cushing. My father was blind and there were no difficulties in expressing himself.

Well If Luke is indeed blind, let's just hope Mark Hamill has spent considerable time around blind people to learn, and really nail that natural art of conveying real sentiment without the use of the eyes that blind people have.

You're welcome, MF, and thank you for telling me. I am glad for your father that it didn't hinder him expressionally. :)

Some may be sarcastic about challenged issues but it really can harm many doing so. I am not blind but I am a lot closer than I was just a few years ago and I consider it likely Cushy may loose her Sight in the future. Such issues shouldn't be taken so lightly. I am likewise basically wheelchair-bound when active at all because I haven't been able to walk hardly at all in nearly 4 years due to CP and nearly unrelenting stress.

Jcuk: For consideration: What if Mark relies on *touch* and *Body movement and proximity* to convey Luke's emotions? I bet he'd be superb. Eyes and speech and even expression are NOT the sole ways of *communicating*.

And thank you as well. Yes, there is little amusing about loss of vision, hearing, mobility, etc... hang in there :)

Let's keep insinuations about others' motives out of our commentary and discuss the topic rather than demonizing other members of the forums.

"Character assassination." Wow. This is without doubt the whiniest, dumbest thread on this entire board, bar none, no exception, no contest, not even close. Even the freaking Finn board isn't this bad.

Sort of off-topic but a lot of people have been wondering why luke is in hiding much of the story. What if when his students were massacred he literally lost his faith and his connection to the force was compromised, rendering him powerless and driving him to the far reaches of space on some sort of pilgrimage to reattain his strength. This could be a great lead in to episode 8. An older and more cynical Luke than we're used to has to train his brash niece and in a way retrain himself

I'm normally in first row when it goes to telling about character assassination for Luke, but I don't see it that a blind Luke is something like that. It would trigger questions what happened, how he deals with it (may be even difficult with the force), how others deal with it and how he can help others now or bond with them. [face_dunno]

Leia and Han always struck me as the cynics. I could see the arc you suggest but they'd have to handle it carefully for me to find it credible and worthy of Luke.

Smugglers are interesting, too. Why should any member of an ensemble get more screen time than any other? Story.

because this movie is also part Goodbye to Han and since Luke has disappeared/MIA then it make sense that the smuggler gets more screen time since he's the one that goes on the Adventure with the kids on the Falcon. Also if Rey/Ren are his kids than it makes even more sense, his final interactions with both before his demise.:)

there is no bigger Star, Star Wars the name sells itself and these movies follow Rey/Finn as focus from beginning to end so bigger star is irrelevant.:)

So is The Rock, but he has no role in this. Han Solo is a well-established character with a role to play. It's not like they invented him for VII.
