I never read the words in these previews in order to leave a little surprise- anyway back to Tattooine again! That's not a bad thing in my eyes it makes these series seem like TV shows, re using the same sets and locations
More Aphra / Vader banter! That was sorely lacking in the last issue. I think I'm officially shipping Aphder. Or Vadhra. However the portmanteau is gonna shake out.
Im this case it makes a lot of sense. Tatooine was the place where Boba encountered Luke and so Vader would want to return in order to continue his search.
Spoiler "Revenge is one hell of a motivator." "You are correct." I even read that in JEJ's voice. Just those three words, though, they don't reveal anything to Aphra, but to the audience they pack one helluva punch. Layers of significance. Its eerie enough having Vader in the homestead. But in Ben's house, too, its unsettling. What on earth Tatooine is going on in Vader's brain? His heart? Does he even have fond memories of Obi-Wan? All these events are making me more aware of the OT events. I'd become numb to the story.
Yeah well whether you guys like this or not because of new canon, this series is a seller and this issue will be no different. Just by looking at the preview it has promise
But you dislike all the new comics besides Kanan, so that doesn't count for much. (Though admittedly Vader is the only one besides Kanan that I find really interesting myself).
Compared to last issue this one has less of the "wow" factor about it, however it's still enjoyable and introduces a new IG Series assassin droid (we can never have enough of those in star wars) and finally the next step in star was- a midget bounty hunter
I LIKE IT.... Obviously a set up issue for the new arc. One of he few series where very little can happen, but you're still entertained by all he goings on. And we now have a little BH group that has a munchkin in Mandalorian Armor. How is this not the best Star Wars comic on the shelf? Never thought of Vaders plans for Luke as a revenge story against Obi-Wan. A nice touch, and one of those acceptable enhancements to a story worth thinking about. EDIT: Aphra with her hair down....I like it....I like it a lot.
Spoiler Or is doing exactly what Vader asked her to do. So, this was, again, an excellent issue and continues to be the true flagship of the Marvel SW line- as awesome as Kanan is, you can easily reccomend this series to anyone without any qualifications and, since it's dealing with moments from the films in new and creatively interesting ways, there's more universal interest and appeal than one with a Rebels connection. The scenes with Vader here in the homestead and hut were just so eerie and note perfect. You can just hear James Earl Jones's voice delivering these lines in your head with such ease, it's quite remarkable. And this is the first time I've ever felt like a Rodian was an actual threat as a character. The whole setup at the end is likewise intriguing and I can't wait to see where these plans go. Spoiler And one can't help but think that those funds are going towards either the DS2 or Vader's personal fleet. This series has just been ridiculously good.
Spoiler I bet those credits will be "officially stolen" by Ahpra while in reality she is jsut under orders from Vader who wants them to bankroll a discreet large scale search for Skywalker
Man this series really doesn't disappoint. There was not one weak issue so far. Spoiler Blowing up Obi-Wan's hut. Does anyone else think this wasn't just to destroy the evidence? Those scenes are all around great as you can really feel Vader's sadness at not knowing his son. It's obvious that Aphra is still working for Vader. The setup is very interesting. Now Vader will officially work against her - while she is unofficially working for him! And why do I think that Tagge will be the one to answer for the theft? Poor little Tagge, he is so far out of his league and doesn't even know it. But this being the Vader comic, it will probably still go down differently than I am imagining it! Also greatly enjoyed that scene with the Hutt. Vader doesn't seem to like working with the Hutts very much, but what are you gonna do in a position like him?
Anyone else want an IG 88 VS IG 90 one shot comic to be made. "Statement-I'm going to kick you're metal ass!"
Spoiler They didn't blow up Obi-wan's hut - they called it a "bomb" but they subsequently explain it as a device that removes forensic evidence of anyone having been in the area. If you look carefully the hut is actually still standing in the background after they detonate it. Agreed that the whole thing was just a great sequence.
Spoiler I thought the light in the panel was from a giant explosion and you even see Aphra ducking, Vader's cape billowing and fragments flying. Whatever it was, it was pretty flashy.
"This Palpatine was a Rodian in Ewok's clothing!" ―Mon Mothma (X-Wing Strategy Guide) Both Rodian and Ewok representatives of the New Republic demanded an apology and resignation from Mon Mothma. Senators Leia Organa and Garm bel Iblis immediately distanced themselves from Mothma, with bel Ibis asking, "What would her old ally Senator Onaconda Farr have said if he were alive?" Thus, Mon Mothma was no longer involved in galactic politics by Episode 7. Sent from my SGH-M919N using Tapatalk
