Am I the only one who doesn't care who plays him as long as he looks like he could potentially grow up to be Harrison Ford and speaks fluent sarcasm?
I think they should pull a Mindor and frame it as an IU holothriller with Old!Solo commenting grumpily on how they'll never be able to replicate his charm.
Okay, wow. Any other choice will disappoint me, now. We've already had the precedent, make it happen LFL.
I'd love to see small cameos by Jessa, Doc, Fiolla or Skynx. That's what you mean with THE Han Solo trilogy, right?
I think we should start preparing ourselves for this not to have anything of that significance in it--like SG said at Celebration, the impetus is to figure out the most interesting story, not just explain stuff from other stories. It may not be Animal House, but it could very well just be "here's a crazy-ass thing that happened to Han Solo one time". On the other hand, it could start with him winning the Falcon and end with him dumping Jabba's spice. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It could start with winning the Falcon but I think from a narrative perspective, Han meeting Chewie would seem to be something that would happen in the film, sort of a buddy flick where one of them is a Wookiee (hell the guys in Jump Street are so mismatched it could be seen as a beta-version of the arc of the plot). Unless Han won the Falcon before he met Chewie, which is also possible. I do think the whole "Han was an Imp cadet hotshot who then lost his career because he saved a Wookie being abused" seems like a solid foundation, though. Or he could just be a guy who never flew in the Imperial Academy and met Chewie some other way.
As someone said elsewhere, the sideburns he's sporting in TFA definitely suggest some Imperial history.
I hope the movie starts with Han dumping his spice and he's like "man, that was a crazy set of unforeseen events" and then the movie goes on and never explains what happened.
i enjoyed the Han Solo eu Novels. Crispins novels were entertaining. there is a lot of good to borrow from these for the film.
I want the bounty hunter on Ord Mantell that changed his mind be an old friend that convinced him over drinks that he needs to leave the Rebellion.
I, too, would love to see Han freeing Chewie, as that's the only really major event in his backstory that the old EU never covered.
