I grew up on the OT. The pure OT, not those crappy Special Editions. My parents made absolutely certain I wasn't corrupted by them. I have fond memories of Han shooting first and the lack of awful CGI "enhancements". I still have my VHS tape of ANH, and you other Millennial people indoctrinated by the PT and SE's will pry it from my cold dead hands.
That's so cute. I've lost the ability to tell the difference between high school kids and children in their mid twenties. They all look alike to me now.
I've got ORIG OOT VHS tapes and SE VHS tapes - AND a VCR to play them. (Not to mention DVDs and Bluerays.) Best of all - I have actual memories of watching the OT in both 35mm and 70mm. OOT. Wondering who this "Biggs" guy was and everything. Other than #1, I have still to this day early comics, Star Logs, etc. I was and am a proud fan.
I was born in 1999, and I don't know how to use the Snapchats, Vine, or Instagram, and have no intention of learning.
You're the exceptions, not the rule. When older Millennials say they hate "millennials", they're really talking about Generation Z. In other words, 18-20 year olds, or even younger. Gen Z is pretty terrible. Gen X parents were incompetent, so they're spoiled rotten. They're sensitive but they're extremely vicious too. Their parents did a terrible job keeping them grounded in the real world, can't work out problems face to face. Entitled, lazy, narcissistic. Being born in 89, I feel like the 90s was the last decade where kids actually played OUTSIDE until the streetlights came on. The can be traced back to 9/11, and became more apparent around 2009-2010. Kids started playing outside less and became couch potatoes. They grew up on grey shooters like MW2 and Halo, not actual good games like Banjo-kazooie. Shows like "Hannah montana" and "iCarly" taught them to be be bratty and disrespectful. There was also a huge shift in personality. When I was going to school we only caught the tail end of that whole 'self esteem' movement that turns children into self centered a**holes who expect the world to be given to them. 95 and up, that crap was entrenched from the first grade.
So wait now we hate Millennials? This thread flip flops quicker than a politician. The only thing worse than people saying "this generation is the best" is saying "this generation is the worst." But Boomers really are just the worst. Missa ab iPhona mea est.
When older Millennials (25-34) say they hate "millennials", they're really talking about Generation Z. In other words, 18-20 year olds, or even younger. The kids who are all about swag and selfies.
The issue I have with baby boomers is that they got a really good deal during their young adult years (thanks to the rightly good policies put by the greatest generation) and now they're wanting a good deal at the expense of young people today during their old age.
You know why Generation Z is stupid? Because they're 20 and younger. That age group is always stupid. It has nothing to do with their generation. That griping about the good old days is foolish and stereotyping generations just because things are different even more so. Missa ab iPhona mea est.
When people talk about hating Hitler, they're really talking about Adolf Hitler. In other words, the Fuhrer of Nazi Germany who provoked Europe into WW2 and presided over the Holocaust.
I'm almost old enough to be that guy's mother and I still felt like I was reading something from Abraham Simpson. Or a Boomer who acts like a Boomer.
